Description
Our house is a very short walk away from the town of Lanjaron, and are based on the edge of the Sierra Nevada natural park which is popular for hiking and biking, the house is set within 5000m2 of fruit trees and shared with our Donkey, 2 dogs, 3 cats and chickens. at the end of our garden is a challenging climbing wall with 21 routes, all bolted with chains. We have a pool that is available for all to enjoy, a BBQ area and many peaceful seating areas. i also run a cycling business in Lanjaron, so if you're interested in bikes this is the place to come! i'm 36 and my mountain bike guide who also lives here is 19. living here you would have the opportunity to mix with our cycling guests in the morning and evenings, our guests are primarily English speaking, as am i. We often head to town to eat and socialise, or make use of the BBQ or kitchen areas at the house. within the garden we have kiwi, grape, pomegranate, almonds, olive, walnut, orange, pear, lemon, fig and more at your disposal.
Types of help and learning opportunities
GardeningDIY and building projectsAnimal CareFarmstay helpCreating/ Cooking family mealsHelp around the houseGeneral MaintenanceHelp with Computers/ InternetCultural exchange and learning opportunities
we are in a very traditional Spanish town, and all neighbours Spanish but also have many British cyclists at the house, there will be plenty of socialising opportunities. and the chance to see how the flood and acequia irrigation from the Moorish times are used to water our fruit trees.

Help
help would generally be not too skilled, unless you have an area you specialise in and you're willing to help in that field should it be of some help. Looking after / feeding our dogs, cats and donkey would, gardening works, some basic DIY, some cleaning / tidying inside and out, cleaning the swimming pool, and generally help around the house. depending on the time of year, harvesting the many different fruit tress that we have could also be an option.

Fairly modern caravan with heating, hot water, kitchen, shower. also use of the swimming pool bathroom, which has a private hot water shower. the caravan has a double bed. Air conditioning can be arranged for the hottest weeks of the year. from time to time accommodation within the villa may be a possibility. We have plenty of parking space. i can provide an allowance for food, sometimes we can all eat together at the house, other times we head to town. this can be flexible.
What else ...
i have cars for myself and my guide, so we can help with lifts to and from town for weekly food shops, and potentially to other towns and places to do things. town is close by, i often head to Granada so could give a lift there, essentially we're often doing things, dog walks at the beach etc, so there are plenty of opportunities to do things outside of working hours. which we can also be flexible with.

I would have stayed longer if it weren't for future travel plans. My stay was very spontaneous, just coming from another workaway up the mountain. However, I'm very pleased I took the time to help Andy out, even for a short while!
