    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

While teaching the kids in our program you learn a lot about the Philippines, Manila, Malate and also about how very different life is growing up in the street, with sometimes nobody taking care of you.

    Help

    Please note:
Due to Covid-19 we do not accept foreigners or new volunteers that have not helped with us before. The situation in each country worldwide is unpredictable and therefore we would not want to be responsible for any travel implications such as ban/restrictions/cancellations or foreigners being caught up far from home or not being able to receive the medical treatment they expect or are used to from perspective of their home countries.
Our projects are up and running, yet many communities are under strict lockdown due to Covid-19 outbreaks and therefore our support needs strong knowledge and compliance with local laws, deep understanding of local culture and language and very sensitive handling of contact/ contact-free initiatives.
    >>Help wherever you are, listen quietly to the world around you and learn how you can help and support those in reach.
We, for examle, started additional projects for preschool kids in our homecountries, after we have learned with how few ressouces each one of us can help, literally anywhere in the world!
    Stay happy & healthy!

    Normally:
We teach street children in Manila and are looking for help and people taking responsibility within our projects. We are not looking for high-profile teachers, yet for strong personalities that have experience with street kids and kids in general.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Each of us helping the organisation longer term is staying in a hostel. We usually use one and the same hostel, as the staff and management knows our organisation for a long time and are usually very helpful with everything. We recently found a small unit that can also be used from time to time, it depends who is already there teaching.

If you are flexible we are grateful and try our best to offer you the best accommodation that we have on hand and accommodate you as homy as possible. Accommodation is paid for in advance and a daily food allowance is paid weekly, after the volunteers have successfully helped teaching and report to the organisation as agreed.

This is a small measure in order to avoid people taking advantage of our offer. Because we are only a very small organisation, funding is as small and we want to make sure every penny that we spend on volunteers instead of in the kids, is well spend.

    What else ...

Manila is a place that you start to enjoy when you stay for some time, people that only pass by for a few days ususally find it very busy and complain about the traffic. Once you get to know the city a little bit there is a lot to do, a lot to see and experience and a lot of fun stuff to do!
