    Description

Hey there! My mom (Veronica), and I (Miel) have been hosting workaways since 2016, and like everywhere in the world we had a turn of events in 2020 when covid happened. We are slowly recovering from the pandemic, taking it one step at a time.

In 2015, we decided to leave the city and live our dream -- to live sustainably by the beach. We started out as a mother and daughter tandem, and now our family has grown! My partner (Ron) lives with us, and now we have Lana who is 3 years old, and Fuego who was just born in September 2022. My sister, Betina, has moved here as well in 2021 due to the pandemic. We are located in the small town of San Felipe, Zambales (easily accessible by bus from Manila), in a beach called Liw-liwa. The place has gained so much popularity lately, and most of the tourists that come through are from the main cities like Manila and Pampanga (so mostly local tourists). We mainly live in Kubos (Bamboo Huts), and we have three kubos that we rent to tourists or for long-term stays. Our main concrete structure here is our Cafe/Bakeshop, which can get pretty busy during the weekend.

As we are still recovering from the pandemic, we are doing some repairs and renovations. The very first kubo we had here will now have to be taken down due its deterioration. But come sprouts a new project that we may be building a new one! We are also trying to grow our own vegetables and fruits, and we try to be very hands on with the work as much as possible. Most of the help we'll be needing is with cooking meals and keeping the kitchen clean, maintaining the grounds and huts, and cleaning the bathrooms. If you are great with kids, we wouldn't mind if you'd want to watch over Lana and Fuego. :) We would also love to share with you our recipes and let you experience the local cuisine.

We enjoy meeting people and learning about their culture, making new friends, learning new recipes and enjoying great food, listening to adventure stories, and sharing music.

  • Help

    Help

It would be great if you are skilled with carpentry, basic plumbing (help in fixing leaks, replacing faucet), or gardening. Extra great if your know how to cook!

We need help with maintaining cleanliness like:
    •Sweeping the grounds
•Making sure the kitchen and bathrooms are always clean
    •Emptying trash bins
•Some gardening - Watering the plants, plucking out weeds
    •Organizing and Decluttering

*We thought that you should know that it's already rainy season, at least until August. So some of the tasks mentioned above may not be done on a daily basis due to the rain since we mostly live outdoors.

We have 3 friendly resident dogs and 1 cat that we feed, bathe, and love.
You may also help us in bathing the dogs, and feeding them.
