Description
Hello travelers!
We are on 40 acres overlooking Moogerah Dam in the Scenic Rim South East QLD. Our property is situated 1.5 hours from Brisbane and 1.5 hours from Gold Coast with amazing views!
We live on a hobby farm which has many animals including horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, dogs, cats and a dairy rescue cow. We have our own veggie and herb gardens and try our best to minimize our impact on the land.
We prefer that helpers stay a minimum of 2 weeks and please only send us a message if you are confident with animals and if you are happy and willing to undertake daily and weekly duties.
Your day will start at around 7.00am from then you will help undertake below; (not as early on weekends)
• feeding all animals that require feeding (horses and goats will depend on paddock conditions)
• rugging and un-rugging horses pending weather
• walking the dogs morning and afternoon
• collecting horse poo regularly.
• cleaning the house each Friday
• spraying weeds in paddocks and clearing weeds
Our next projects will include;
• Finishing Stables and area around stables
• Building garden beds and planting
• Help build a rock fire pit and other rock walls
• Create garden sculptures
• Finishing stairs for the deck
• Fencing
• Depending horse experience work with horses
If you have a trade or are skilled in any of these areas and confident with manual labour, building or tools we would love to hear from you. Or if you are experienced with horses that would be wonderful as it is always helpful to have extra help with experienced horse people. On the other hand if you are willing to give it a go and happy to get your hand dirty we would still be more than happy to hear from you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are a family of four who love to entertain guests overlooking the mountains. Our house consists of four bedrooms, three living areas, two entertaining decks with an outdoor spa. Alicia and her daughter love to cook and welcome guests also to cook. There is always an abundance of fresh fruit, vegetables and meat as we loved to eat wholefood diet and cooking from scratch! (Vegetarians and or Vegans are welcome). Our daughter rides horses competitively and for leisure and If you have experience with horses that would be wonderful as working with horses and managing school work time can run out. If you don't have experience she would like to spend time teaching you to feed up and other work with horses. Our son loves to play Basketball, Xbox, ride his motorbikes and play soccer and cricket and would love for you to enjoy these actives with him.
