  • Description

    Description

We are a permaculture station located in the town of Aracati - Ceará, 5km away from Canoa Quebrada, where it’s practiced the experimentation of community living. Sustainability and social awareness development are the focus of the project. We live in harmony with nature, and we protect it through the use of bioconstruction, the management of residues, using the compost bin, recycling, and treating our own waters with ecological septic systems.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE LIVING HERE?

We are not a stablished community. We are a permaculture station always learning to apply the principles of sustainability and community living. There are moments we have 8 peoples temporary living here. Other moments we have 2 or 3 people. If the number of people is important to you, you can ask before coming.

    THREE WEEKS MINIMUM COMMITMENT
For participating in our volunteer program, we require a minimum of three weeks commitment, to ensure that experience is smooth, fluid and represents a fair exchange between the Aldeia and the volunteer.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The experience of the volunteer is immersive, from cleaning and cooking to developing projects and sharing extraordinary moments together. On the more subtle side, interaction with untampered manifestations of nature, touches visitors and volunteers in profound ways. We also have weekly music jams, capoeira classses and ceramic classes.

  • Help

    Help

Our volunteers help us to perform daily tasks such as cleaning and cooking, as well as creating and managing projects together with the inhabitants, in the areas of bioconstruction, agroforestry, administration, and design. We are always looking for yoga facilitators, arts and craftsmen, holistic healers and vegetarian/vegan cooks. The space has more the 10 bio constructed facilities, so it takes pro-activity, group work and open communication to maintain all structures. Volunteers are welcome to present their own practices and skills by facilitating internal workshops.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

    - There is public transit 20 minutes away from the Eco Aldeia, by foot. It can take you to the town of Aracati, or to the town of Canoa Quebrada, for R$3.50
    - There is a considerable amount of mosquitos during the rainy season, so you might need repellent, and a mosquito net for your hammock, if you’ll use one.
    - We live with two beloved dogs, and three wild cats, and we don't allow any more animals.
