Description
This is an educative project aiming for freedom, autonomy, peace and connection with territory. The purpose of the project is to build an alternative society based in solidarity. It was created 30 years ago as an experiment to find out if it is possible to make a no-school where you learn in happiness and freedom and has been growing to this day.
We work supporting children's life processes. They draw their life plan and we provide the tools for building the knowledge and experience needed to achieve their dreams. We work currently with 70 children with ages ranging from 5 to 18 years old.
It is an agroecological farm growing healthy and nutritional food. We are also guardians of the last piece of an ancient forest. We were charged with this mission by local farmers and we carry it to this day.
Our main task is to offer different types of spaces throughout the day: study, art, crafts, etc. For the children to enjoy and learn from. So they can choose if the feel like developing themselves as artist, or maybe to further accumulate some knowledge, or simply to have a nice day.
The farm includes a large house where the work which children is done. We grow medicinal plants, food, and some chicken. The house can host visitors (and workawayers) to a maximum of 32. There is a playing area with trees and gardens and whatnot, there are bathrooms, a kitchen, a lab, a PC room, some book shelfs and our little piece of forest.
So, the tasks to be done around the farm includes:
-Creating enjoyable spaces for children to grow, learn, experience or have a good time.
-Propose and develope interesting project for the children to join.
-Help and learn about agorecological techniques.
-Multimedia production to share to the world our work.
Es un proyecto educativo que construye libertad, autonomía, paz y conexión con el territorio. El propósito del proyecto es construir una sociedad alternativa basada en la solidaridad. El proyecto nació hace 30 años como un experimento para descubrir si es posible hacer una no-escuela donde se aprende en libertad y felicidad.
Hacemos un trabajo de apoyo a los procesos de vida de niños y niñas. Ellos plantean sus propósitos educativos y nuestro equipo les proporciona herramientas para que adquieran los conocimientos y la experiencia necesarias para lograr sus sueños. Trabajamos actualmente con 70 niños y niñas de edades entre 5 y 18 años.
Es una granja agroecológica con cultivos de alimentos sanos y medicinales. También somos guardianes del último reducto de un antiguo bosque nativo. Campesinos de la región que lucharon por esta tierra nos encargaron esa misión, que cumplimos desde entonces.
Nuesto principal trabajo consiste en ofreces espacios para que los niños y niñas disfruten o aprovechen. Son espacios de estudio, de trabajo, artes, etc. Así, ellos pueden decidir si quieren desarrollar su talento artístico, acumular conocimientos o simplemente pasar un día agradable.
La granja incluye una casa grande donde trabajamos con los niños. Cultivamos plantas medicinales, comida y criamos algunos pollos. La casa puede recibir hasta 32 visitantes (O workawayers). Hay un área verde de juegos con árboles, kardines y demás. Hay baños, una cocina, un laboratorio una sala de cómputo, una librería y nuestro pequeño bosque.
El trabajo que se puede hacer incluye:
-Creación de espacios agradables para que los niños crezcan, aprendan, experimenten o pasen un buen rato.
-Proposición y desarrollo de proyectos interesantes en los que los niños puedan participar.
-Ayudar y aprender en la aplicación de técnicas agroecológicas.
-Producción multimedia dirigida a compartir nuestro trabajo con el mundo.

By staying with us, you can expect to learn a lot about innovative education ideas and you can share our efforts to build a free and autonomous educational environment for the children and how we've been facing the challenges we meet. The team has developed several interesting projects to learn about in this area. Like earth painting, app development for education, arts in education, etc.
Also, we grow our medicine and food by means of agroecological techniques, which are really interesting and urgent to learn about. Some of the plants we grow may be of interest as well, like the amazonic Sacha Inchi.
If you as workawayer decide to help with education tasks, we, as team, can coach you or at least be around to help and answer to questions; you would create a space or propose a project and wait for children to get interested (Which they certainly will). We will be around the house to help with materials, challenges and whatever. We also can share our debates and we expect to learn a lot from a different view of the world.
We are making our little (For now) revolution. We dream of connecting with other revolutionary souls and that's our main cultural proposed exchange.
Al compartir tiempo con nosotros, podrás aprender acerca de ideas innovadoras en educación y podrás hacer parte de nuestros esfuerzos por construir una educación autónoma y libre y de los retos que enfrentamos. El equipo ha desarrollado varios proyectos interesantes en educación, como pinturas con tierra, desarrollo de aplicaciones para educación, arte en la educación, etc.
También cultivamos nuestra medicina y comida usando tecnicas agroecológicas, las cuales son interesantes y urgentes de aprender. Algunas de nuestras plantas también pueden ser de interés especial, como el Sacha Inchi amazónico.
Si tú, como workawayer, decides ayudar con trabajo educativo, nuestro equipo puede apoyarte o, en todo caso, estar disponible para ayudar con materiales, retos o cualquier cosa. También compartimos nuestros debayes y quisieramos aprender a partir de otras visiones del mundo.
Estamos haciendo nuestra pequeña (Por ahora) revolución. Soñamos con conectar con otras almas revolucionarias y ese es nuestro principal intercambio cultural.

Accommodation
Shared rooms. Each room has 4 double level rooms. There are no closets or night tables. Bathrooms are adjacent.
We make lunch every business day. So we can provide lunch and dinner in one step if repeating some of the food is fine with you. You can use the kitchen to make your breakfast (But be aware of the cook, she will be making damn sure you clean your dishes and leave everything as she left it the day before).
When the cook is not there, you can keep using the kitchen (But remember to leave everything as before). There is food being grown at the farm and, anyway, you can buy some more from nearby El Tambo village or Popayán city.
Habitaciones compartidas. Cada habitación tiene 4 camas de doble nivel (camarotes). No tienen closet o mesas de noche. Baños adyacentes.
En se hace almuerzo todos los días hábiles. Así que podemos ofrecer almuerzo y cena en un sólo paso si repetir algo de la comida te parece bien. Puedes usar la cocina para hacer tu desayuno (Pero cuidado con la cocinera. Hay que dejarle todo limpio y en el sitio en el que estaba).
Cuando la cocinera no está, puedes seguir usando la cocina (Pero recordar dejar todo como estaba). Hay algo de comida cultivada en la finca y también se puede comprar en el pueblo cercano de El Tambo o en la ciudad de Popayán.

Close to touristic city Popayán, with ancient architecture and cultural events. Also in reach of legendary Colombian massif, bornplace of the great Colombian rivers.
