Description
We are a family-run olive grove. Our aim is to eventually become a land that has integrated the principles of regenerative approaches into our way of life and operations as olive producers. I am writing as Serra, the daughter of the family, after living abroad for some time and my travels, I am positive that the way of life here in Alacati is one to be aspired. Expect being under olive trees, near the sea, beautiful Aegean coast and waters. There is windsurfing opportunities in 10 kms. Beautiful seasonal veggies grown in the farm and our own high quality extra virgin olive oil. We also have a restaurant in the town of Alaçatı, 6,5kms away. So you will be coming for a stay that is very big on food. I also host events and gatherings at the farm, so depending on the time of your stay, you will be experiencing or participating in them.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Cultural exchange sits at the heart of our understanding of life and ethics at the farm. As mentioned, the farm is a local hub for our like-minded community that is global. We host gatherings, dinners, cultural and artistic experiences regularly. During summer months we have family and friends dinners and bbqs at the open kitchen. There are art residencies every une for 2 weeks. You have the opprtunity to learn a lot about olives and olive oil making, I am trained and still training as a sommelier of olive oil and wine. I have studied medicinal and aromatheraputic herb growing and foraging. I study functional and medicinal funghi, and food science. we also have a large workshop space for mutidisiplinary works.
Help
You can help with many different aspects. Maintaining the living spaces, the hen house, composting, worm farms, you can participate with the food gatherings, experiences, harvesting -depending on the season- and many more tasks will be available. We work with nature in many cases, depending on the season the help we need will change. Outdoor living, being in nature and animals (dogs, chickens, geese), sometimes active surroundings should be expected. Previous knowledge of ecology, carpentry, permaculture, gastronomy will be aprreaciated.

We can provide a room with a double bed, near the south entrance. The toilet amenities are a walk away, there is a small compost toilet and water basin but the shower is separate. There is also a full facility toilet very near walking distance. We also have a tent, will have an inflatable bed, mat option if you like.
Like I mentioned, we are a family that is big on food, it's what we do. I try a lot of new recipes every day for R&D. However depending on the season the frequency of these meals may change. During peak season (June-Aug) we may be too busy to have food at every meal, but we do have a very large and well equipted kitchen at the farm that you can have access to. All basics will be there, we also have fresh eggs from the chickens and seasonal veggies from the farm. Also you will not run out of olive oil. What else ...
You can walk to the nearest town Reisdere, 1,8km away, or bike ( we have a bike you can borrow), there are ancient ruins in Ildır, called Erythrai, or a very touristic town, with very good restaurants and night life during peak season, or the seaside in Ilıca. It's a great peninsula overall, very bust during peak season but the rest of the time is quite and very chill.
There are minibusses or busses from Reisdere, taxis in Reisdere, or you can call taxi to the farm.A little more information
