Description
Ciao! We are Carmelo, Jenny, and our active 9-month-old baby, Francesco—a Sicilian/English couple living in beautiful Punta Braccetto, Sicily.
Our home is old, full of character, and needs some love and repairs, but it is comfortable, relaxed, and located only moments from the beach. We share our space with two friendly dogs and one donkey who lives outside. We love simple coastal living, family life, and getting stuck into projects. We are looking for an easygoing, practical, and tidy couple or small family to join us by the sea and help us create a happy, comfortable home.
Types of help and learning opportunities
Light gardening
Creative DIY projects

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The stay will be in a small coastal village with beautiful coast and beaches. The surrounding area is dotted with historical sites of interest (from prehistoric to Neogothic, passing through greek, roman, medieval and baroque times).
Food is great and weather even better.

Help
We are looking for a couple or small family to help us balance remote work and home improvement. We need assistance divided into two distinct roles:
1. Au Pair / Babysitting
Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Main Tasks:
Looking after our 9-month-old baby while we work remotely.
Preparing simple meals for the baby and occasionally for the family (one of us is vegetarian).
Keeping shared spaces tidy and cleaning up as you go.
2. Handy Person / Gardening / DIY
Hours: 5 days per week, either 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Main Tasks:
Basic DIY, gardening, repairs, painting, and ongoing household projects.
Some cleaning and general house maintenance.
Note: Prior experience is great, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important!
Requirements:
Must be able to drive (having your own car is a huge bonus, but not essential).
Must love animals, as you will be around our dogs and donkey.

Accommodation
We offer a comfortable, relaxed living space within our coastal home. The room features a mezzanine and could easily sleep 4, with access to a dedicated bathroom and a large shared kitchen. Because our house is right by the beach, you will get to experience true, simple seaside living. We are happy to welcome either a couple or a small family into our home environment. The house is part of a small group of houses on an enclosed courtyard.

What else ...
Beaches are 100m away, there is a small shop, cafe and two beach bars in Punta Bracetto. For supermarkets, pharmacy, shops and anything you may need that is not too sophisticated, the local town is a 10 minute drive or 15 minute cycle ride away.
A degree of public local transport (coaches and trains) can get you to see places for a day trip or overnight visit.
We may also take you touring around a bit with friends.

Carmelo, with his creative mind, always has a bunch of ideas. For sure he got a plan, but at the same time the road shapes itself as we go. Learning by doing. I liked that.

Her cheerful attitude and excellency in baking cakes made her stay unforgettably pleasant.
A lot was achieved with her help and my regrets are that her stay was too short and I did not realise earlier how good she is at illustration.

The work there was a lot of fun; we helped to tidy up their beautiful property, build things independently, collect trash, and generally bring to life Carmelo's many creative ideas. We got to play with the donkey from time to time, received delicious treats… read more
