Description
Before Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico we were renovating and fixing the house for our new baby and after the Hurricane we lost a lot and we had to stop working in the house. The water caused major damage so we're back to square one and we need all the help (man power) we can get. After the continuous earthquakes the house structure was completely damaged. Is not safe to stay inside the house. Only camping around the house is available. Construction experience is really needed.
Our house has a beach front view and is located in a Caribbean paradise. You can watch humpback whales from the balcony in one of the best surf spots in the West Coast of Puerto Rico. Our front yard is the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, with a great underwater view. The house is very accessible and you can walk to town and shops easily. Puerto Rico is full with natural attractions, a good night life and a delightful gastronomy surrounded with the best people.
We'll love to offer information and share cultural events, historic places as well as natural wonders with the volunteers in exchange of your help restoring our home.Types of help and learning opportunities

Rincon is a vibrant tourist town with a busy Sunday farmers market with fresh goods and local cuisine and a weekly artwalk on Thursday nights with live music, art and crafts. The many beaches near by are great for long beach walks, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and spectacular sunsets. The house is very accessible and you can walk to town and shops easily.Projects involving children

What else ...
This is a great small town to live. Many people came to visit and never left. There is a lot to do around the island in the days off. The volunteers can work up to 5 hour per day and after finishing they can enjoy the island living.
In our house we like to chill, surf, paint, play chess and poker, enjoy good music, share healthy and fresh food around family and friends.
We are looking for people able to adapt to a harsh environment in a island who suffer the worst hurracaine. People able to live with few resources and be happy and thankful of what we share or are able to provide. Empathy is a rule.
People with nice vibes and positive thinking. They should be able to help voluntarily and take care of their own cleaning and cooking.A little more information
