    Description

We’re looking for someone to watch our dogs and home from June 11 to June 29. Would prefer you arriving a day or two earlier and you're welcome to stay a couple days longer.

We are a married couple with a toddler, both educators, that love to travel! We are often gone extended periods of time in the summer. This year we will be taking a two and a half week trip up to Michigan and are unable to bring our fur babies with us. We’re looking for someone to care for our dogs, bring in the mail, and tend to our yard/garden while we are away.

When we are around, we can share our favorite places to be outside in nature! If you plan on traveling more of the United States we can share some of the best places we've been! We can teach gardening skills, basic housekeeping skills, and much more! We also live in the horse capital of the USA! Lots of beautiful horse country is a short drive away. If you're old enough, we have wonderful distilleries (bourbon), wineries, and breweries all within close proximity.

  • Help

    Help

While we are out of town, we need help with the following items:
Caring for our dogs - they are both almost 8 years old and they love exercise and play. Nova is a Beauceron mix (about 75 pounds) and Lilo is a beagle mix (30 pounds). Both dogs are super friendly, cuddly, and love to play! They need 2 walks/plays a day. During the summer the walks will be early (about sunrise) and late (about sunset). They also need to be fed 2 times a day, brushed daily, and loved always!!! They have a dog door with 24/7 access to the backyard, so they are fine by themselves during the day. Nova has anxiety around fireworks, which unfortunately happen often near us in the evenings. She needs someone strong that has experience with dogs to keep her calm when this occurs on a walk (as she will often pull on the leash to get home).

Caring for our home- We have a medium sized yard that will probably need to be mowed once or twice while we are away. We also have a garden that will need to be watered and may require pulling some fruit/vegetables if ripe. You would also need to pull weeds once a week.

For accommodation, you will stay in our home. You will have your own bedroom and bathroom on the main level. We sleep upstairs with our own bathroom. You will have a small closet to yourself and be free to respectfully use our house as your own.

When you arrive, we will help you with your first round of groceries (Up to $100) .
We will recommend hikes and adventures if you're interested.
When we are away, we will leave you $75 a week to use how you wish for groceries and entertainment.

    What else ...

Our expectations of someone are simple: show kindness and respect for our home, ourselves, and our animals!
We love teaching, traveling (we've been to all 50 states and 30+ countries), volleyball, the outdoors, entertaining friends and family, and finding good local drinks and food for cheap.

    Profile photo of Lilo

    Lilo (7 years)

Lilo is 30 pounds of pure love. She would be content to sit with you on the couch all day (as long as you provide the pets!) she also loves to go on walks and sit on the porch with her humans.

    Profile photo of Nova

    Nova (7 years)

Nova is 75 pounds of energy! She loves going for walks and sitting with her people on the couch. She isn’t a fan of the hot summer days, so she needs an early walk in the morning and a later walk in the evenings when the sun isn’t as hot.
