❣️ Looking for an Au Pair to join our family in Magical Mangawhai, Northland, New Zealand❣️

We are a blended family... Myself, a mother of two young boys, my oldest is Nixon 8, youngest is Mateo 5. They both attend primary school full-time. I share care with their father, 50/50 so they are with me every second week (Fri-Fri). My partner Luka, a Father of two older children. His 10-year-old son Cooper comes to stay with us every second weekend, and school holidays. His daughter Mia is 17 and she will visit at times.

I work day and night shifts as a medic on the ambulance (4 days on, 4 days off). When my boys are with us every other week, I will need someone to care for them during the hours they are not in school and sometimes my work will fall on weekends and we will need help caring for all three boys.

The benefit for an au pair staying with our family is you will also have plenty of time to yourself, to explore or pick up part-time work during school hours and every second week when kids go to their Dad’s house (We could also make an arrangement for you to do some extra hours at his house caring for the boys when he needs help - if this is something that would interest you).

We train Brazilian jiu-jitsu, like to surf and go to the skatepark, bike etc. We enjoy going on road trips, beach days, hikes etc. The boys are active and have lots of energy so we like to keep them busy with things other than TV/screens. They especially love arts and crafts. I need to emphasize that you MUST be an active person/outdoor lover as it is very important to our family that the boys get lots of time outside/in nature.

We live in the most beautiful beach town, 80 minutes North of Auckland city. Amazing surf beaches, walks/hikes, golfing, cafes, shops, and the best community. We’re in a rapidly growing town with a shortage of workers in the hospitality industry, so lots of opportunities for part-time work. We have a wonderful 4 bedroom home in the middle of the town. Short walk to a big park. 5 min drive to the beach. 15 min bike ride to school.

Included: your own private room (which is a very small cabin attached to the main house), pocket $ per week, groceries/meals, laundry, wi-fi, use of a bike .. if you do not have your own vehicle, whenever possible you will be able to use my vehicle to get boys to and from after-school activities or beach etc. Otherwise, they take the bus to school. If you have your own vehicle we can discuss gas money. If you're coming from overseas and do not have a phone plan, this can be discussed as well.

I need someone to start anytime between now and Dec 1st ...preferably for 6 months and I will happily keep you on beyond that if you’re keen 😊🙏🏽

I am flexible and open to different options, just really want to find a great fit, someone who feels like family.

This is an exchange of your time helping to take care of my boys — for room and board. Cooking, making lunches and light household duties to keep on top of the home will be necessary. Bonus if you speak another language or have some teaching experience/childcare experience and can offer your gifts to the boys!

It is very important that you are an active person, enjoy the outdoors and will take the boys to do things outside, nature, beach etc.

My specific expectations in conjunction with childcare include keeping a tidy home (getting kids to clean up after themselves), cooking and preparing lunches for children, cleaning countertops and dishes related to feeding the children and preparing lunches, laundry related to the children's needs and their school uniforms, bathrooms kept tidy after bathtimes etc.
