    Description

Currently in the south of bulgaria there is lots of roadside trees, especially walnut, that have not been pruned and looked after. They are a great source of vital nuts and oils but when they are left to die, overgrow and otherwise not looked after they are not very productive.

These are lining the roads all around where I live, for many miles. There is at least 2000 trees I have idenified that need some love.

I've decided to do two things- 1- prune around them to give them a better chance at survival, and, 2- clone trees from the extra branches in a process called 'air layering'. I attached a few youtube videos of this below.

If you are interested in helping me out to save these trees and also create new ones- this could be for you.

As a side quest, I'm also planning to adopt a goat herd that I will use to keep our back field of 1.5 hectares clean. So I do need a little help keeping them in check!

    ABOUT ME:

I'm James, nice to meet you. Originally from Oxford, UK, I've just returned to Bulgaria after several years in Iraq and then Ukraine, working with a medical support company. I'm a trained medic, and medical officer having run a field hospital in iraq during the war on terror. I went to University in Bulgaria and speak the language, so, getting tired of the 'advneture life' I have decided to return to europe and my passion which is eco-business and creating new challenges for myself here.

I'm 39, reasonably active, and my hobbies when not creating projects are- archeology (my study), exploring, long hikes into the mountains, caving, swimming, rafting, 4x4 driving, shooting, scuba diving- basically it if involves being outside and doing something fun, thats where you will find me.

I love cooking- indian and italian food are my best dishes- what are yours?

I hope to see you soon as part of my team on this project. Lets make a difference together!
