  Hello everyone! We are a mixed family of people and dogs: Fani, Iris (humans) and Lili (dog). We live in a town called Es Mercadal, in the heart of Menorca, just a few kilometers from pristine beaches and nature. It’s perhaps one of the most beautiful towns on the island. I work in tourism and need help caring for Iris. We are looking for a versatile, dynamic, and respectful person, used to sharing their living space with others. Also, someone independent and eager to discover another culture, other people, and other places. You will have plenty of time for yourself and, if you want, you can participate in our activities and with our friends. In return, we offer accommodation, meals, and the opportunity to make new friends. 😊

  Bonjour à tous ! Nous sommes une famille mixte composée de personnes et de chiens : Fani et Iris (humains) ; et Lili (chiene). Nous vivons dans une ville appelée Es Mercadal, au cœur de Minorque, à seulement quelques kilomètres de plages vierges et de nature. C’est peut-être l’un des plus beaux villages de l’île. Je travaille dans le tourisme et j’ai besoin d’aide pour prendre soin d’Iris. Nous recherchons une personne polyvalente, dynamique et respectueuse, habituée à partager son espace de vie avec d’autres. De plus, quelqu’un d’indépendant et désireux de découvrir une autre culture, d’autres personnes et d’autres lieux. Tu auras beaucoup de temps pour toi-même et, si tu le souhaites, tu pourras participer à nos activités et avec nos amis.   Menorca is a wonderful place to discover, with incredible nature, virgin beaches, and a very good atmosphere in summer, which knows how to keep its slow pace. You will have a lot of free time a week to enjoy your stay in the way you choose. You can go on your own or share the activities you want with the family. We like to enjoy nature, go on excursions, go out with our camper van, go to the beach, get together with our friends, enjoy the sea and other simple but great pleasures that the island offers us.

  Help

  We mainly need help caring for the girl, Iris, on the days she is at home, as we share custody with her father on alternating weeks. Iris is 10 years old and although she is quite shy at first and needs time and patience to adapt to new people, once she overcomes this, she is a very fun girl. The person who comes to the house should help with household chores as a team member, contributing to the order and cleanliness of the space, and voluntarily assisting with dog. The girl is at home 15 days a month, on alternating weeks. During these weeks, you need to wait for her to come back from school, take care of her meals, and accompany her until the mother return from work. On weekends you need to take care of her and keep her entertained. The rest of the time when the girl is not at home and the workawayer has all their free time with complete freedom.

  Nous avons principalement besoin d'aide pour prendre soin de la fille, Iris, les jours où elle est à la maison, car nous partageons la garde avec son père en semaines alternées. Iris a 10 ans et, bien qu'elle soit assez timide au début et qu'il faille lui donner du temps et de la patience pour qu'elle s'adapte à de nouvelles personnes, une fois cela dépassé, c'est une fille très amusante. La personne qui viendra à la maison doit collaborer aux tâches ménagères comme un membre de la famille, en contribuant à l'ordre et à la propreté de l'espace, et volontairement à l'entretien d'un petit potager et des animaux. La fille est à la maison 15 jours par mois, en semaines alternées. En semaine, il faut attendre qu'elle revienne de l'école, s'occuper de ses repas et l'accompagner jusqu'à ce que les adultes rentrent du travail. Le week-end, lorsque nous travaillons tous, il faut être avec elle, la garder et l'occuper. Le reste du temps où la fille n'est pas à la maison, le workawayer dispose de tout son temps libre avec une liberté totale.

  At home we speak Spanish and Catalan. I speak (as far as I can) English and French. In summer many visitors from different countries come to the place where I work, so any language you speak will be a good opportunity for all of us to learn. I prefer that the person who comes speaks some Spanish so that the girl can be understood, especially at the beginning.

  We live in a comfortable, modern apartment in the town center. You will have your own fully furnished bedroom with an exterior window. The rest of the house—including the living-dining room, bathroom, and kitchen—is shared with the rest of the family.
