    Description

Acorn Farms is located 27 km from the Okanagan Valley in B.C. Canada. Surrounded by low mountains and many lakes and rivers.
Acorn Farms is an Organically Grown farm; Including greenhouses and approximately 1/4 acre of garden space.
We have goats, llama, and a horse, plus several cats and a dog.
Duties would include but not limited to watering plants, greenhouse transplanting, garden weeding, soil preparation, planting of seeds and transplanting, learning about organic farming in the area and collection of wood for the following winter. Fencing and care of livestock and sustainable grazing practices can also be learned. We are very open to learning new ideas from you as well. We share the cooking and day to day chores.
At this time we are in the process of completing the interior of a straw bale home.
During July & August we can get temperature in the mid 30 degrees Celsius. At those times we start early and end by noon to beat the heat.
During the colder months of the year days are basically filled with wood, livestock and maintaining the off grid system. Lng stays are encouraged during the winter months.
You can learn more about alternative iving and Alternative Medicine. I would like to learn some spanish and I am open to knowledein many areas of life.
