Help me become self reliant and manage my small organic farm in Fundão, Portugal

  Description

  I am a Dutch 60+, single woman managing a small organic farm with olive trees, fruit trees, vegetable garden and some livestock as 5 goats, 20 chickens.Twice a year I raise some chicks for meat. I have two cats and two dogs. I try to be as self reliant as I can preserving a lot of my produce. I look out at the Gardunha mountain range and I am surrounded by cherry and peach orchards. I live 3 km away from the village which is accessible by sand and gravel roads. My nearest neighbours are a km away. So very tranquil. I have my own solar energy and water source. I try to sell my excess of produce, preserves and eggs on the Saturday market in nearby Alpedrinha.

  I like to teach other people about gardening on an eco friendly way and how to preserve the produce. I can also teach you the basics of the Portuguese language.

  Help

  I could use help with pruning, mowing and general garden work and especially the heavier jobs. Some shelters need to be made for the sheep I like to get for grazing the orchard. I have lots of pallets for that. At the moment I will start harvesting the olives soon in November.

  I like learning languages and I am quite basic in several western European languages. I like to get better in hebrew and like to get to know a bit Eastern European languages.

  Accommodation

  I have a spare upstairs bedroom with a double bed and a double sofa bed in the upstairs living room. The upstairs has his own bathroom with a bath. Downstairs is a shower room. Cooked can be in the kitchen in a side building.

  What else ...

  There are lots of walking routes around my farm. Two villages at 3 km distance with some cafes. I have a small swimming pool to cool down. You will have access to a bicycle. Fundão is 30 min drive away. In the summer months there is a swimming pool in one of the villages. River beaches are a bit further. Access to a car is advisable. I have now a small 2 passenger seat in my pickup.
