    Description

I am a comercial Seafarer. I arrived in French Polynesia 6 years ago. When I am not working on other peoples boats I am traveling on my own boat, surfing, freediving and fishing around. Although the boat is small she is always kept shipshape and as all boats do , she requires a lot of maintenance. I need help with various tasks onboard to keep the lifestyle going and if I am away for a few days (working on another boat) I need someone to live and keep an eye on the boat for me "boat sitting".

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I have been living and traveling around the world on my boat for 16 years now. I have a healthy obsession for surfing and spearfishing/freediving. Breath work, meditation, exercising, healthy eating and yoga is a strong part of my daily routine. I worked as a sailing instructor before so I can teach if you are interested and we are on passage. The schedule on the boat is usually personal study, surf surf surf, fish fish fish, boat work in between and repeat :) If you resonate with the work like a captain and play like a pirate mentality you are on the right boat. I can speak portuguese, spanish, english, french and some swedish and I am happy to talk with you in any of those languages. If you can teach swedish (or norwegian) I would like to further my studies on that! I strive my best to learn and follow the ways of the land and its people. French Polynesia is the maximum gold for any water man/woman and the opportunities for growth on one studies of the ocean are all around. Seamanship is a big word onboard and we will strive to achieve that together.

We need to keep ourselves and the boat clean, safe, nourished, healthy and happy :) For that we will not only share the domestic chores onboard, like cooking, washing up and cleaning around but also any boat maintenance or upgrade project that needs to be done. If you are handy with tools and DIY knowledge would be useful but if not there is room to learn or do other tasks which can be taken out of my hand which is very helpful as well. Tasks you will help with can vary widely from provisioning with water, food, fuel to cleaning the hull or sharing a night watch. If you are boat sitting I will show you how to keep all systems running so you can live and care for the boat properly. Onboard I strive to harvest as much as I can from the ocean and what land provides so we need to harvest, process and store food. Raise and rinse sprouts, dry and pickle fruits and fish and keep on nourishing ourselves taking care of our meals.

You will have your own cabin with a doubleish size bed and a sink with fresh water. Toilet is shared and shower is cold and outside on the open cockpit. We will cook and clean after our meals together. The galley is small but has everything we need. There is a small fridge but no freezer. We use solar panels for electricity and you can charge most common appliances. The whole boat is always keep clean and tidy as all ships should be.

If we are sailing in between islands we wont have internet for a day or two. Other than that I usually anchor where I can have 4G phone signal as I also need to be reachable.
