Description
Hi! I love meeting new people from different cultures. I have been on several different hospitality exchange platforms since 2007 - I had more than 500 guests over the past almost 20 years. I thought that I could find people that could also help me with a few things that I am not skilled at - in exchange of course for accommodation and food. I am married, we have a baby boy that will turn 1 year in January 2025, and we would love to meet a helping hand around the house. We have no pets, we are fairly easygoing. We don't smoke and would prefer if guests don't smoke (but it's OK to do it on the balcony, which is connected to our guestroom).

We have been told by many travelers that we are good and polite hosts. We show people around and know a lot about local history. We like to go on short car trips during the weekends, and guests are welcome to come with us. We have bicycles to offer for those that like to discover the city on a bike :-)

Help
- Babysitting and help around the house! Since January 2024 we have a baby boy! We will now appreciate any and all the help around the house, including babysitting. I work from home, so I will always (also) be there and babysit him while my wife is at work.
- We always have some "home improvement" projects that I would benefit from someone's help: for example, installing bookshelves, putting cables through the walls, etc.
- My hobby is collecting and maintaining Hi-Fi devices (amplifiers, cassette decks...). Most of them are 20 or more years old and they require regular maintenance and also repair. It ranges from simple maintenance (cleaning the switches and pots...), via simple repair (changing of rubber belts, diagnostics, and fixing simple electro-mechanical issues) but if you know how to do more complex electrical circuits diagnostics or mechanical repair, that is a great bonus which I will be happy to financially compensate.
- Additionally, there are always complex things with my (complicated) home computer network and computers that I would love to solve.
- Art projects: not sure what exactly this category means on Workaway, but I have several fun projects I am working on and I think they could be fun to share with workawayers.Languages

Portuguese: IntermediateThis host offers a language exchange
- I am interested in enhancing my Portuguese language (intermediate). - I can help with English and of course my native Serbian if anyone is interested in that :-) - My wife Carolina is Colombian, and her native language is Spanish.Accommodation
We have a separate comfy guestroom, with a work desk, small sofa, access to a small balcony, and its own audio system :-) My apartment is relatively small, it has a nice living room, small kitchen and (only) one bathroom. The location of my apartment is excellent - you can get to the very center of the city in less than 15 minutes by a public transportation. Search for "Belgrade Stari Merkator" on maps to find approximate location of my neighborhood.
What else ...
Belgrade is not a very photogenic city, but it has an abundance of charm and activities to offer during all seasons. The city is very "alive", there is always some interesting activity going on. Locals are very friendly with foreigners. Serbia in general is not an expensive country.

Thank you Nicolas! I wish you all the best in your new life adventure!
He has a most curious mind, and the way he things about solving mechanical problems is amazing! I admire his brave approach: he would start to build or fix something that he never did before, but he will read and learn and watch instructional videos and in the end not only that he will figure… read more

I hope to see you around! Thank you for all the help and advice you gave me about recording.
We talked about sound, video, music, worked together on Ableton Live and I discovered the amazing rare analog gear which for me was a delight to experience.
Thank you for everything and I can’t wait to work on something together in the future.

He is a respectful, intelligent, interesting, caring human being.
We had a lot of interesting conversations that reflected our interests in topics and life. He showed me around the city and explained plenty of its history to me.

It was simply AMAZING, he's one of the most interesting, capable, intelligent, curious, hard-working, patient... people I have ever met! He (unfortunately) only stayed about a week, but he was always ready to help. But more importantly, we had so many great… read more
