  • Description

    Description

We are a retired but active couple living in an eighteenth-century country house in central Ireland. We are keen to host workawayers, preferably a couple, to help us with restoring woodland gardens, a rock garden and growing vegetables. We also have about 18 hectares of woodland, peat bog and pasture to be managed for biodiversity.

We are keen to share our interests in archaeological heritage, landscapes, and biodiversity, drawing on Emma's professional background in leading the National Trust of Wales and Henry's experience as professor of botany, geography and earth sciences at Trinity College Dublin and Aberystwyth University. We would like to take our Workawayers on trips to heritage and nature sites in central Ireland. We will also share skills in gardening, and horticulture while working alongside our Workaway guests. We will enjoy learning more about the cultures of other nations, and would welcome opportunities for conversational practice in French, Spanish or Italian.
