ENGLISH:
We are a community living project in the heart of Corinthia, near the beautiful Faakersee. Since the beginning of May 2022 we work together with the government and are hosting people from Ukraine and Tadschikistan, who came to Austria because of the war in their countries... We offer them shelter, food and a safe space in our house.
We live in the premises of an old hotel (see the pics), which has a lot to offer:
Seminar room, large scale kitchen, garden, natural swimming, guest rooms, indoor and outdoor children's areas.
At the moment the community is in a transition period and many things are in flux right now. Expect the unexpected ;-).
Our place offers versatile possibilities for creative work and space for new ideas and projects.
For your time of 4-5 hours a day/5 days a week of volunteer work we offer you accommodation, as much food as you can eat and the possibility to grow personally and learn a lot of different things. There is scope and openness for your individual skills and abilities, depending on what's currently needed the most. At the moment a lot of the work involves housekeeping tasks, such as helping out at the (non-alcoholic) bar, cooking and doing dishes for the community and the refugees. But there are also possibilities for outdoor Gardenwork and building our compost.
Volunteers are also invited to bring something into the community and share their life, practices and projects with us.
We are looking forward to meeting people from all over the world. To engage with our refugees, Russian and Ukrainian language skills would go a long way.

Wir sind ein Gemeinschaftswohnprojekt im Herzen von Kärnten, nahe dem wunderschönen Faakersee. Seit Anfang Mai 2022 arbeiten wir mit der Landesregierung zusammen und bieten Zugewanderten Menschen aus Ukraine und Tadschikistan eine Unterkunft, die aufgrund der aktuellen Kriegssituation in ihren Ländern in Österreich sind. Wir bieten ihnen einen sicheren Ort zum Leben.
Wir bewohnen die Räumlichkeiten eines alten Hotels, der einiges zu bieten hat:
Seminarraum, Großküche, Kaminzimmer, Garten, natürlicher Schwimmteich, Gästezimmer, In- und Outdoor Kinderbereich und Feuerstelle.
Im Moment befindet sich die Gemeinschaft im Wandel und somit verändern sich auch gerade die allgemeine Organisation, die interne Struktur und Abläufe. Erwarte das Unerwartete ;-).
Unser Platz bietet vielseitige Möglichkeiten für kreatives Schaffen und Raum für neue Ideen und Projekte. Wir freuen uns auch über Projekte und Tätigkeiten die Du in die Gemeinschaft einbringen möchtest.
Für deinen Beitrag von 4-5 Stunden Freiwilligenarbeit pro Tag/5 Tage pro Woche bekommst du von uns als Energieausgleich Unterkunft, Vollverpflegung und die Möglichkeit, persönlich zu wachsen und verschiedenste neue Dinge zu lernen. Wir versuchen auf Eure individuellen Fähigkeiten und Talente einzugehen, müssen jedoch auch berücksichtigen was gerade am dringendsten benötigt wird. Aktuell sind viele Gemeinschaftsaufgaben wie Bardienst (an der größtenteils nichtalkoholischen Bar), kochen und abwaschen gefragt. Es gibt aber auch draußen einiges zu tun, den Gemüse Garten anzubauen und zu pflegen oder unseren Kompost zu bereichern sowie den Schwimmbereich sauber zu halten.
Wir freuen uns darauf Menschen aus aller Welt kennenzulernen, von ihnen zu lernen und unsere Erfahrungen mit ihnen zu teilen! Um mit unseren Geflüchteten in tieferen Kontakt zu treten, wären Russisch- oder Ukrainischkenntnisse sehr hilfreich, ansonsten beschränkt sich leider vieles auf die Kommunikation mit Händen und Füßen ;-).

There is a weekly volunteer plan, where all the tasks are distributed among the volunteers.
Every Monday we have a community circle where we discuss important topics, dates and tasks.
To be self responsible is a really important characteristic for us. We have confidence in all our volunteers, so that we do not need to control if everybody fulfilled their 4-5 hours shifts.
Furthermore we appreciate people being self initiated and have their own ideas and projects.

Es gibt einen wöchentlichen Volunteerplan, wo die Aufgaben vergeben werden.
Jeden Montag gibt es ein Gemeinschaftstreffen wo wir wichtige Themen, Termine und Aufgaben besprechen.
Eigenverantwortung wird bei uns groß geschrieben, deshalb vertrauen wir auch darauf, dass jeder seine Aufgaben erledigt und auf sein Soll von 4-5 Stunden Arbeit pro Tag kommt, ohne dies streng zu kontrollieren.

You can stay in our dormitory rooms for free.
In the warmer months, it is also possible to stay outside, so you can bring your own tent, caravan or camper-van. When you want to stay in a single room we ask you for a contribution of 5€ per day.
Also we provide as much food as you can eat :)

Die Unterkunft im Mehrbettzimmer (maximal 2 Menschen) ist für dich frei.
In den wärmeren Monaten kannst du gerne auch dein eigenes Zelt mitbringen oder im Campervan anreisen. Wenn du im Einzelzimmer unterkommen möchtest bitten wir dich um einen Beitrag von 5€ pro Tag

Our region is a paradise! :-)
The Mittagskogel, the Dobratsch and the Gerlitzen invite to many summer and winter sports.
The Faakersee and the Aichwaldsee are only 10 minutes by bike away from our house.
Workawayers who are staying with us have the opportunity to use the local beach on the faakersee.
Furthermore, there are spas, an animal park and indoor and outdoor climbing facilities nearby.
Villach, as well as the Wörthersee, are only a 15-minute drive away.
Slovenia and Italy can be reached in about 20 minutes by car.
We also have a railway station called Ledenitzen nearby.

Der Faakersee und der Aichwaldsee befinden sich nur 10 Radminuten entfernt von unserem Haus.
Workawayers die bei uns zu Gast sind haben die Möglichkeit den ortseigenen Badestrand am faakersee zu benützen.
Desweiteren gibt es Thermen, einen Tierpark und In- und Outdoor Klettermöglichkeiten in der Nähe.
Villach, wie auch der Wörthersee, liegen nur 15 Autominuten entfernt.
Slowenien und Italien sind in ca. 20 Autominuten zu erreichen.
Außerdem befindet sich fast direkt vor der Haustüre ein Bahnhof.
