Description
We are Elena, Giovanni and have a 10 years old daughter Yi Lan. We live in a beautiful countryhouse, built in the 1600s that we renovated 20years ago, located at the foot of Monferrato, in Capriglio, 45 minutes from Turin. We have two outdoor cats.
The home is big and comfortable, with the bedrooms on the second floor, kitchen, living room and library on the main floor. There is a big garden and a small vegetable garden. In front of the house, in the old stable, there is a pottery studio.
We are looking for people who are seriously interested in sharing family life and that help us both in routine home and garden work (like setting the table, helping to cook, and spending time playing with Yi Lan and speaking English with her). Occasionally there will be some more intense work that we will need help with on the property.Types of help and learning opportunities

Our country and its surroundings have the highest concentration of Romanesque parish churches in northern Italy. I will be happy to teach you everything I know in the kitchen. If you wish, I will teach you about pottery, modeling, and wheel throwing. However, I will ask you to help me clean the studio after our lessons.
Many of our neighbors and friends have interesting activities such as organic farming, the distillation of essential oils from wild plants, and cultural associations.Projects involving children

Help
We would like assistance with the daily maintenance of the house, like washing dishes, helping to cook, watering plants, helping Yi Lan to tidy up the games before dinner and spending some time playing with her and speaking English. ... All of us would love practicing English and maybe Yi Lan English and Chinese.
If you are capable, some help with photos and social networking to sponsor my pottery activity is very welcome. I would like to receive help with photography and improving my Instagram and Facebook page and my Etsy shop. I would appreciate some help in creating a better marketing strategy for my business.
Scheduled this fall there are also some more challenging jobs such as the tidying of the porch and the ceramic gas kiln system. On some weekends we will finish the work that takes more time to be done. So this may mean that you will complete all of your hours in one weekend and then will have the rest of the week free. I usually provide pottery classes on Saturdays, and workaway workers are welcome to participate providing they help prior to the lessons.Languages

You will have at your disposal a room and a private bathroom, to be shared perhaps with another workaway companion and you must keep it clean. It is not possible to smoke inside the house. We would be happy to share meals together, hoping you will like to spend some time with us. We do not eat fish due to allergies.
What else ...
A bicycle is available to reach the nearest towns and to visit the beautiful countryside. By bike, you can reach the train station that will give you access to Turin and beyond. In the neighboring towns, there is no lack of moments of leisure and culture, such as the Palio of Asti, or the most famous museums of Turin, such as the Egyptian Museum, Palazzo Madama and the Cinema Museum. Piedmont is also famous for its food and wine culture. The home is situated minutes from Langhe wine country and a little over an hour from the Italian Alps. Often without straying too far from home, there are numerous fairs and festivals in neighboring towns.

Since we were also on vacation we had constant cohabitation and Adam was very polite and cooperative.
He worked steadily and accurately and was a great help.
Even finding jobs of his own when I couldn't assign him one accurately.
We will be glad to have you as a guest again.

I think we were especially lucky to have had this feeling with her; it was as if she had been part of our family forever.
She had kind and polite ways with everyone, especially our daughter Yi Lan, with whom Rosie was able to interact very naturally.
We also entrusted her to take care of the animals, our garden… read more
She was like a big sister to our daughter Yi Lan; they played, laughed, sang and spent many afternoons together, speaking English.
Particularly enjoyable were the times of conviviality and culinary exchanges

I was originally meant to spend 2 months with the lovely family of YiLan, Elena and Giovanni, but I ended up extending my stay for a month. This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one. They really made me make feel like part of the family, so much so that it was truly sad to leave. I am glad to have met… read more
