Description
Hi! My name is Alessio and I live in Iglesias, a small town in the southwest of Sardinia, Italy.
I would like to host an English-speaking guest who is interested in discovering Sardinian and Italian culture while improving their Italian. My main goal is to create a genuine language and cultural exchange: I would like to improve my spoken English through everyday conversation, while helping my guest practise Italian in a natural and relaxed environment.
I live in my own home and I can offer a private room and shared use of the common areas. Iglesias is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, beaches, historical places and old mining sites, and it is a great area for someone who wants to experience a quieter and more authentic side of Sardinia.
I enjoy meeting people from different cultures, sharing everyday life, having conversations, cooking, visiting the area and exchanging languages and experiences.
This is mainly a cultural and language exchange, not a work project. I would like the experience to be relaxed, respectful and enjoyable for both of us. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I would like to offer a genuine cultural exchange based on everyday life in Sardinia.
My guest will have the opportunity to practise Italian naturally during daily conversations and to learn more about Italian and Sardinian culture, traditions, food and lifestyle.
I would be happy to share local knowledge, show some interesting places in the area, talk about Sardinian history and culture, and spend time together in a relaxed way, for example cooking, having meals, going for walks or visiting nearby places.
At the same time, I hope to improve my English by speaking regularly with a native or fluent English speaker and by learning more about their culture, habits and way of life.
The idea is to create a friendly and respectful exchange where both of us can learn from each other. -
Help
I am mainly looking for a language and cultural exchange.
I would like to host a native or fluent English speaker who can help me improve my spoken English through everyday conversations. I am especially interested in becoming more confident and natural when speaking, learning useful expressions and improving my pronunciation.
There are no specific help duties involved. The idea is simply to spend some time speaking English together during normal daily life, for example while having meals, going for a walk, visiting places or relaxing at home.
In return, I would be happy to help my guest practise Italian, explain expressions and grammar, and introduce them to Italian and Sardinian culture.
I would like the exchange to feel natural and informal rather than like formal lessons, so that both of us can improve our language skills while enjoying the experience. -

I am particularly interested in improving my spoken English through everyday conversation with a native or fluent English speaker. I would be happy to help my guest practise Italian in return. I am looking for a relaxed and natural language exchange, based on daily life, conversations, shared activities and cultural exchange rather than formal lessons. -
Accommodation
I can offer a private bedroom in my home in Iglesias.
The guest will have their own room and can use the shared areas of the house, including the kitchen, living room and bathroom.
The house is comfortable and located in a quiet residential area. Wi-Fi is available, and the guest will have enough privacy and independence during their stay.
I would like the accommodation to feel relaxed and welcoming, while respecting each other's personal space and daily routines. -
What else ...
Iglesias is a small town in southwest Sardinia, surrounded by beautiful beaches, nature, historical sites and old mining areas.
During free time, there are many places to explore in the surrounding area, especially for people who enjoy the sea, walking, nature and discovering local culture.
Public transport is available, although having a car can make it easier to explore some beaches and more remote places. When possible, I would also be happy to show my guest some interesting places in the area.
At home, I value a relaxed, clean and respectful environment. I think it is important that both host and guest have their own privacy and independence, while also enjoying some shared time together for conversation, meals or activities.
I would prefer to agree on practical details and expectations before the stay so that the experience is comfortable and enjoyable for both of us. -
