Description
We are a large family with 2 adults and 5 children , 4 children live at home with us ( 10-212years old). We also have dogs who live with us or are on our farm. We run a small building and design company. If you are interested in Brisbane we live in a central area in Paddington - 3 km's to the city.
We live in a great neighbourhood next to parks, cafes and public transport. The house is on Fernberg Road Paddington.
We are a family home with children and offer shared accommodation within our living space. This placement is best suited to couples, small families travelling with school-aged children, or female travellers who are comfortable living in a busy family environment.
This placement suits mature, self-directed travellers with prior life or work experience who are comfortable contributing in a practical, family-home setting. We generally host 23+.
We are looking for help with:
- gardening, trying to grow food
- house cleaning
- house maintenance, painting etc
- child minding
- dog walking and care
25 hours per week per person. Please note helping to make meals that you are also participating in is not included in these hours.
We are able to provide a private bedroom room with double bed, wardrobe and small desk.
All food ingredients are included - plant based, fish and occasionally meat. No junk food in our home.

We are an interactive and social family and love helping and mentoring people. I am a Graduate Architect and Builder and my husband is a Builder and teacher. We love food, music and keeping healthy. We love sharing knowledge and our dining table. We are renovating our home which will have a focus on community, multi-generational living and nature - including self sufficient food garden, natural swimming pool and solar energy. We also have a farm we work on with our family.

Mickey and Steve are such a lovely hosts.Even though the house is crowded, you will be able to have your own private space and time. I enjoyed my interactions with their children, Rubin, Jasmine, Phoenix, River and their two gentle giants, Kiri and Billie.

Mickey and Steve were very friendly and welcoming. They have a house WhatsApp chat to introduce everyone (3 other couples staying during our 1 week) and to give work updates. We weren't able to spend much time with the family due to busy schedules but each interaction we did have was great.
