  Hello,
  We are a family of 4: Laëtitia and Léo (31 years old), Olivia (18 months old) and Vangus (dog, 19 months old).
  
  We are renovating a farmhouse that we bought in November 2024. Leo works from Monday to Friday and Laëtitia from Monday to Wednesday. We want to share the most family moments possible and offer Olivia and Vangus some quality time. Today, we are very tired of Olivia’s many nights awakenings and need help to maintain a balanced daily life, to allow us some time to rest and for other activities such as working on our renovation project during the weekends. The idea of welcoming a fifth member into our family seems to us to be connected to our family values (taking time to be together, sharing our know-how, meeting us around tasty meals of fresh and local products, investing us in renovation, gardening and creating a cosy place). We are looking for someone to help us with the daily tasks of the house (cleaning, cooking) and especially someone to spend quality moments with Vangus (go for a walk with him) and with Olivia (playing with her, exploring around, communicating with her and generally adapting ourself to her preferences and physiological needs). We are looking for a person for 1 month minimum so that Olivia and us have the time to get used.
  
  We live in Valon at Lacroix-Barrez (12600), down to a castle from the 12th century, surrounded by forests. The place offers different daily experiences throughout the year: quiet and solitude, tourists come some weekends and especially in summer. Six hiking trails from the house including two marked. 5min drive from the village heart with two restaurants, a relay post and a grocery store. 15 minutes by car from two small towns with all necessaries: Mur-de-Barrez or St-Amans-des-Cots, 45 minutes from Aurillac (the largest city around) and less than 1 hour from beautiful villages such as Espalion and Conques. Notice that we don’t have wifi, you have to manage your connection if you need one (good connection available). We are really happy to have found this place both relaxing and interesting place to meet people and to spend nice moments with the neighbours.

  Nous sommes une famille de 4 : Laëtitia et Léo (31 ans), Olivia (18 mois) et Vangus (chien de 19 mois).
  
  Nous rénovons un corps de ferme que nous avons acheté en novembre 2024. Léo est couvreur du lundi au vendredi, Laëtitia aide à domicile du lundi au mercredi et kinésiologue le samedi. Nous tenons à partager le plus de moments en famille
  possible et proposer à Olivia et Vangus des temps de qualité. Aujourd’hui, nous sommes très fatigués par les nombreux réveils nocturnes d’Olivia et nous avons besoin d’aide pour maintenir un quotidien équilibré, se dégager quelques temps de repos ou d’activités comme avancer dans notre projet de rénovation les weekends. L’idée d’accueillir un 5ème membre dans notre famille nous paraît correspondre à nos valeurs familiales (prendre le temps d’être ensemble, partager nos savoir-faire, se retrouver autour de repas savoureux de produits frais et locaux, s’investir en rénovation, jardiner et à créer un lieu d’accueil chaleureux). Nous cherchons quelqu’un pour nous aider dans les tâches quotidiennes de la maison (ménage, cuisine) et surtout quelqu’un pour passer des moments de qualité avec Vangus (se promener avec lui) et avec Olivia (jouer avec elle, lui proposer des promenades pour explorer les environs, communiquer avec elle et, de manière générale, s’adapter à ses préférences et à ses besoins physiologiques). Nous cherchons donc une personne sur un temps plutôt long (1 mois minimum) pour que nous ayons le temps de nous habituer.
  
  Nous habitons au hameau de Valon à Lacroix-Barrez (12600), au pied des vestiges d’un château du 12ème siècle, entourés de forêts. Le lieu offre des expériences quotidiennes différentes tout au long de l’année : calme et solitude, affluences touristiques certains weekends et particulièrement en période estivale. Six circuits de randonnée au départ de la maison dont deux balisés. À 5min en voiture du cœur de village avec deux restaurants, un relai poste et une épicerie. À 15min en voiture de deux petites villes avec toutes commodités : Mur-de-Barrez ou St-Amans-des-Cots, à 45min d’Aurillac (grande ville la plus proche) et à moins d’1h de villages magnifiques comme Espalion et Conques. Merci de noter que nous n’avons pas de wifi, c’est à vous de prévoir votre connexion internet si vous en avez besoin (les antennes fonctionnent très bien). Nous sommes vraiment contents d’avoir trouvé ce lieu reposant tout en rencontrant régulièrement d’autres personnes et en passant de jolis moments avec les voisins.

  During your stay, you will be a member of our family. We want to share quality moments with you too! and we will consider your needs into our organization.
  
  We are in renovation so you can discover this dynamic. We will be happy to pass on our acquired skills (especially those of Leo) and those that we discover worktime after worktime. If you want, you can also join us when we are gardening.
  
  We made unacademic choices (such as: home birth, physiological bearing, considering Olivia as a full person, respect the preferences of Vangus, work up to our needs, go towards autonomy without be isolated). We will gladly share with you the joys, the facilities, the surprises and the difficulties of these choices.
  
  We will be happy to initiate you, if you wish. In our project (place of crafts, tourist accommodation, lodge and cabins, artistic and acrobatic residencies), a embroidery shop will be installed where Léo will sell some objects in wood as well. Later (when Laëtitia can work during all day long), she will do ceramics again. As a kinesiologist, she
  can of course answer your questions but she do not want to enter into a training dynamic.
  
  There are nice proposals on site (especially during summer) that allow to build links with locals and the tourists as well.
  
  For us, Workaway is a chance to meet warm-hearted people, to continue to travel in a different way and to build relationships. Also to allow Olivia to discover other ways of doing, thinking, cooking and exploring.

  Pendant votre séjour, vous serez un membre de notre famille. Nous tenons à partager des moments de qualité avec vous aussi ! et nous veillerons à intégrer vos besoins dans notre organisation.
  
  Nous sommes en rénovation donc vous pourrez découvrir cette dynamique. Nous serons ravis de vous transmettre nos compétences acquises (surtout celles de Léo) et celles que nous découvrons chantier après chantier. Si vous le souhaitez, vous pourrez vous joindre à nous quand nous jardinons.
  
  Nous avons fait des choix peu académiques (comme : accouchement à domicile, portage physiologique, considérer Olivia comme une personne à part entière, respecter les préférences de Vangus, travailler à hauteur de nos besoins, aller vers l’autonomie sans s’isoler). Nous partagerons volontiers avec vous les joies, les facilités, les surprises et les difficultés de ces choix.
  
  Nous serons heureux de vous initier, si vous le souhaitez. Dans notre projet Le Pressoir (lieu d’artisanat, d’accueil touristique, artistique et acrobatique avec gîte et cabanes), un atelier de broderie sera installé où Léo vendra quelques objets en bois qu’il fabrique. Plus tard (quand Laëtitia pourra travailler toute la journée), elle reprendra la céramique. En tant que kinésiologue, elle peut bien sûr répondre à vos questions mais elle ne souhaite pas entrer dans une dynamique de formation.
  
  Il y a de belles propositions sur place (particulièrement l’été) qui permettent de tisser des liens avec les locaux et les touristes.
  
  Pour nous, Workaway est une chance de rencontrer des personnes chaleureuses, de continuer à voyager d’une autre manière et de tisser des liens durables. De permettre aussi à Olivia de découvrir d’autres manières de faire, de penser, de cuisiner et d’explorer.

  Help

  For daily tasks:
  - helping with the housecare (do the dishes, clean the different spaces of the houses depending on a calendar). We like our house to be cleaned and tidied,
  - cooking (help in the kitchen and cook on your own). We can share our recipes with you or discover yours.
  For theses two tasks, you have to be independent and do it carefully in order we don’t have nothing to check after you (for example when you cook, you clean the space you use).
  
  For quality time with Olivia:
  - playing with her while we take care of daily tasks, renovating or gardening,
  - exploring the area,
  - communicating with her,
  - following her rhythm and her needs. Notice that we will be present around.
  The most important is to be flexible and creative because Olivia makes progress every day.
  
  We breaksfast at 8:30am. A big walk with Vangus is needed each morning (one hour minimum). When you will be alone at home with Vangus (from Monday to Wednesday), you will have a list to do and you will organise your time. When we are at home, we can do tasks or activities together to create some links. We meet each other around 4pm to cook for the dinner and lunch for the day after. We eat around 6:45.
  
  In weekends, it would be different and more flexible because Léo will be here and you could stay longer with Olivia for example and if you both Olivia and you like it. We will go sometimes around to visit new places or to go to places we already like, you would be free and more than welcome to join.
  
  We will adjust the organization together. It is not about replacing us neither at home neither with Olivia. It’s about feeling more confortable thanks to your presence without being rushed.

  For the accompaniment of Olivia, we would prefer to welcome someone who has correct bases in French. If this is not your case but everything else in our listing is ok for you, still contact us. We like to help people learning French and we are happy to improve our English.

  Accommodation

  You will stay in a room (there is two rooms available) in the house that has not been renovated or heated for two years. Everything is cleaned so that despite the current state, you could feel good. We will eat in the little house where we are currently staying, morning, noon and evening (we provide three meals). Notice that meal times are precious to us. If you eat vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free and/or gluten-free, it is possible to adapt the meals.

  Vous logerez dans une chambre de la maison (deux chambres disponibles) qui n’a pas encore été rénovée ni chauffée depuis deux ans. Tout est propre pour que, malgré l’état actuel, vous vous sentiez bien. Nous mangerons dans la petite maison où nous logeons actuellement, matin, midi et soir (nous prenons en charge les trois repas principaux). Les temps de repas sont précieux pour nous. Si vous mangez végétarien, vegan, sans lactose et/ou sans gluten, il est possible d’adapter les repas.

  What else ...

  During your free time, you can of course enjoy the setting: walks, hikes, visit the castle, go to the river. There is no public transport from the house, we can drop you to the center of the village or further (sometimes) if we can. There is a lot to visit in Aveyron! If you wish to travel in the rest of France, we can accompany you to the train station in Aurillac (for example, night train to Paris from 38€).

  Pendant votre temps libre, vous pourrez bien sûr profiter du cadre : promenades, randos, visite du château, rivière. Il n’y a pas de transports en commun depuis la maison, nous pourrons vous accompagner au centre du village ou un peu plus loin, si c’est possible et en s’organisant en amont. Il y a de quoi visiter en Aveyron ! Si vous souhaitez voyager dans le reste de la France, nous pouvons vous accompagner jusqu’à la gare d’Aurillac (par exemple, train de nuit pour Paris à partir de 38€).
