    Description

Hi Workawayers, our family lives 10 minutes from Masterton on a sheep farm in the northern end of Wairarapa. We are close to the Tararua Ranges which is wonderful for hiking. Castlepoint beach is only 1 hour away. Wairarapa has many great things to see and visit, including our vineyards , great cafe's and wonderful walks. To the south there is Cape Palliser for seals and the famous light house. We are fun loving family and would love to share our great location with travellers. We have two teenage children (one is at University), a cat, a house dog, five working dogs and two puppies and many sheep with a few cattle. A large home that can accommodate easily a few extras. We would love to share our lifestyle with you! BBQ dinners, river swims, adventures on the quad bike make this a great place to stop for a few days or more. We are very relaxed and believe that people and connections are what enrich life.

  • Help

    Help

We are a busy family and would love some help with things around our home especially gardening, water blasting, tree planting and mulching our gardens.
We live on a farm but the stay is for a cultural exchange and the help is simply around our home. We love showing oeople around our farms but you are not expected to help out on them rather to ride along enjoy the views and see what we do.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Two lovely guest rooms within our family home. We eat as a family at night which is a great time to be able to connect and chat. Workawayer will enjoy a lot of home grown produce as we have a garden and eat our own meat, which includes wild venison which we hunt ourselves. Lunch and breakfast is help yourself but often we are all in the kitchen at the same time.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

It would be helpful for workaways to have their own vehicle. We have many wonderful sights that you can see within an hours drive of the farm. Mount Bruce wild life sanctuary is 15 minutes north of us. You can go to Ngawi to see the seals and the light house which is 2 hours away, calling into Martinborough for a wine at one of the vineyards on your way. Or travel to Castle Point beach out west an hour and walk the light house, do a spot of surf casting, or climb castle rock!
