Description
Looking for a laid-back experience in a welcoming environment?
This is set in a friendly local community where expats and locals connect, surrounded by beautiful nature, empty beaches perfect for surfing, and nearby waterfall hikes.
I’m currently looking for volunteers to help with construction projects. We need hands-on help with masonry and concrete work until January, and then we’ll move on to woodwork for the second floor of our building. While Spanish is optional, it can help you bond with our local team.
You’ll be working alongside me and my brother, who’s been a big part of this project from the start. He might not be around this winter, but I’ll be here to support you throughout your stay.
Meals are generally provided, with a mix of basic breakfasts and dinners, including lots of vegetarian options and occasional meat or fish. Everyone’s welcome to camp out with a hammock or tent on our property.
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves, enjoy some great outdoor experiences, and be part of our community, we’d love to host you!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I’m excited to share my knowledge about the surrounding surf spots. You’re welcome to join occasional community events, or you can explore the area on your own. Usually this is a very quiet place and there is not much going on. Evenings often involve dinner conversations where we can exchange stories, ideas, and experiences which usually create a relaxed atmosphere.
As an autodidact, I’m eager to learn from you as well. I’m open to discovering new skills, traditions, and perspectives from different cultures. Each Workawayer brings a unique background, and I look forward to the enriching experiences that come from our time together.Help
As a Workawayer, you’ll dive into a variety of tasks that will keep you engaged and active. You’ll be involved in concrete work, woodwork, occasional art projects, repairs, and even some gardening. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable construction skills, improve your physical health, and perhaps even pick up some Spanish along the way.
We’ll be collaborating closely, with some tasks requiring us to work side by side, while others will allow for more independent work. I’ve learned everything from scratch, with no prior experience, which has fostered a strong sense of self-reliance that I’m eager to share with you.
Overall, this experience will be about living together and learning while working, creating a supportive environment where we can exchange skills and ideas.Languages

As we’re still at the beginning of our project, Workawayers are welcome to sleep in hammocks around the property, finding their own cozy spot. If you prefer more shelter, I can also provide tents, bedding, or blankets as needed. The toilet, shower, and kitchen are available for your use in my small house, and the terrace serves as a shared hangout space. The property is fully fenced and located in a safe community, providing a secure environment for everyone. You’re also welcome to bring your own tent if you have one, but if not, I’m happy to supply either a tent or hammock for your stay.
In terms of meals, I typically cook for myself three times a day on a regular schedule. When I’m around, I’ll happily prepare meals for you as well. On days when I’m not there, you’re welcome to use my kitchen and supplies to prepare your own food.
I don't have Wifi at the moment, but you can just get yourself a local sim card and get some data. On my property there is usually good signal.
Overall, you’ll experience a rural, nature-focused lifestyle with an increasing number of amenities as we continue to develop the property.A little more information
