I am a flexible, adventurous and relaxed South African, have been living for the last 12 years in Mozambique and just rented and started operating Nzuwa Lodge on the beach in Mozambique. The lodge has 3 beachfront bungalows, 2 vista rooms, 2 self catering family suits, and a new restaurant with pool. I don't have a lot of time, therefore any help would be amazingly appreciated. You can't beat the location with such an untouched beach that will give you African experience in a safe and relaxed environment.
One thing to note: we are a lodge, not a backpackers. That means you'll have a quiet stay on a remote and very untouched beach. There isn't a big night life and everyone goes to bed quite early.

They can learn Portuguese. They can see first hand how a lodge is run. They will interact with local African workers on a daily basis.
Anyone handy with tools, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, carpentry will always have first priority here.
We have endless amounts of painting to be done so if you are willing to put on some headphones and paint for a 4-5 hours a day, we can ALWAYS take you. If you just want to come and use local materials to create art to decorate or do some gardening/landscaping, that is also welcome.
We are an operating lodge, so if you enjoy working with tourists that would be helpful. Mozambique is strict about work permits, so working in the restaurant during peek hours is not possible, but talking to lodge guests and bartending at night is very helpful. PLEASE NOTE: we are a lodge, not a backpackers so you will need appropriate dress when dealing with clients; nothing formal is needed but not gaping holes in shirts you've been traveling with for 2 years.
Depending on the tourist season, we would either accommodate you in one of the vista rooms or in a private room in the staff area. Both have private bathrooms.
We live on a beach that is ideal for kite surfing. You can take long walks on the beach, go snorkeling, tide pooling or take out our kayaks. If you want to go to town, you can go scuba diving or whale watching.
Please read carefully online the travel warnings for Northern Mozambique. If that makes you nervous, we don't recommend to come!
