  Description

  We are a Swiss-Indonesian family of 5 (children of 10, 4 and 9 months) relocating to Mozambique, Tofo beach, Inhambane, for 1 or 2 years. I have been working in the humanitarian field for the last 20 years, so we lived abroad for most of this period. My wife worked mostly in the design/slow fashion business. Since we are planning for a couple of sabbatical years, we planned to relocate to Tofo, where we already have land and a house.
  We are looking now for an 11th grader private teacher/tutor. The teacher will be in charge of our eldest child academic education. More children might as well participate in the teaching process, as I would like to build a school there.
  
  We live just outside the small village of Tofo, on dunes overlooking the sea and having direct access to the beach. We can offer a private bungalow and a small kitchen for leaving on our land. The sea offers best diving and good surfing opportunities.
  
  Tofo is a small touristic village 8 hours car away from Maputo, the capital. Daily flights connect Maputo and Johannesburg daily. Vilankulos and the Bazaruto arcipelago is also a 5 hours drive North.

  We work on developing a community school and touristic opportunities as well (on our plot of land) so that the daily interactions with local stakeholders and children in need of education support are guaranteed.
  
  Tofo is a touristic spot manly catering South Africans and Mozambican alike, activities such as diving, snorkelling, boat trips, fishing, surfing, horse riding and more are available. The cultural scene is small but vibrant and live music and restaurants are available in the village center.

  Help

  We need a teacher for our son that is an 11th grader. Other kids from the area might as well participate in the education sessions, since the idea would be to develop a school over the next two years.
  
  The person we are looking for should be independent and have plenty of initiative and creativity so to join an educational path in a relaxed environment, ensuring a good balance between academics, sport, arts and play.
  
  The teacher/tutor should be able to follow an 11th grader on all subjects necessary to complete the chosen curriculum, applying different teaching methodologies but mostly following the IB system. We won't expect anything formal, and will leave to the teacher/tutor the necessary degree of freedom to achieve expected and jointly agreed upon results.
  
  On my side I will mostly provide support in structural set up and in science and practical works/research.

  Since I am Swiss and my wife Indonesian, we speak daily Italian, Indonesian and English at home. Our house staff does speak Portuguese, but not much of English. We are definitely open to all kind of language possibilities as long as the education provided to my son will be in English

  Accommodation

  Our land sits on dunes overlooking the sea and with direct access to the beautiful Tofinho Beach. We have a separate structure (brick building) from our main house building where the teacher/tutor will be sleeping and will have a small kitchen for self catering or sharing with the staff, but we will be happy to share meals as well.

  What else ...

  We will have a small music studio ready at the house as well, if music is of interest. We have drums Tama, a bass, guitar, trumpet, saxophone and other electronics Push, Electron Rhythm, etc. A local music teacher will come regularly as well.
  
  From Tofo, daily buses leave to the major destinations.
