We are a couple living in one of the most beautiful places of Germany, the Eifel. We share our little farm with two cats and seven horses, three of them adults, two youngsters and two foals.
We are looking for someone to help us with all the work around the animals, including stablework, education of the young horses, excercising the old ones and playing and cuddling the foals and the cats. We also need help around the house and garden.
Our farm is located in the literal "middle of nowhere". The village consists of two farmhouses, the next villages, not very much bigger, are about two km away through the forest. So living here is very relaxing, but never boring.

You will learn a lot about horses, and experience to live with horses as friends and partners, not as tools for sports.
If you want to improve your German, it will be helpful that I used to work as a teacher for German as a foreign language.
I work as a hoofcare practitioner and saddle fitter, and if you are interested in learning about it, you can assist me and I will teach you everything you want to know.
Daily feeding of the horses, cleaning stable and paddock, fence building and repairing. Help with housekeeping and cleaning.
We grow our own vegetables for private use, so we need help for gardening, lawn mowing, cutting hedges etc. Also picking fruits and cooking jam.
The firewood for the winter has to be sawed and chopped (by help of machines of course).
Like every old house, our house is always under construction, so there are still rooms to be papered and painted, wooden floor to be laid etc.
Of course you will not have to do all of these things, it is all dependend on your skills and interest.
Our adult horses are mostly retired and the young ones are in a difficiult phase. We don't have a horse for unexperienced riders at the moment so we cannot promise you an opportunity to ride.
If you are a very experienced rider with a soft hand maybe you can help us educating the young horses. Experience in Natural Horsemanship, groundwork and dressage would be great.

You will have your own room in the first floor, and as long as there are no other guests in the house, you will have a bathroom for your own.
We do cooking and housework together and have all meals together, if possible.
The region Eifel offers a lot of opportunities for outdoor sports like hiking, cycling, trail riding. The landscape is quite montainous and full of varieties: forest, heath, moors, volcanic lakes etc.
Especially our district has got a very low density of population, that's why people call it "Little Canada".
The next town (Ahrbrück) with supermarkets and a train station is 10 km away. From there you can reach the bigger cities Bonn and Cologne.
