Staying with Tamalyn was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, she welcomed me with open arms and made me feel completely at home. We spent a lot of time together, and she generously shared her deep knowledge of New Orleans with me. Thanks to her, I feel like I now know the city better than many locals!

In exchange, I helped maintain her beautiful garden and took care of weeding around the house. I also gladly assisted with simple household tasks. The work was straightforward and enjoyable, and it felt great to contribute to her lovely home. Her two cats were delightful companions during my stay, always nearby and offering their own unique charm to the household.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Tamalyn to any Workawayer seeking a meaningful and immersive experience in New Orleans. Her warmth, generosity, and passion for her city make her an exceptional host.

My friend Eva and I stayed at Tamalyn's a while back and it was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. Tamalyn is a lovely, cultured and funny woman (and an amazing dancer) and was totally welcoming to us, plus she has traveled a lot and has a lot of experience and many interesting stories about different cultures.
My friend and I
… read more spent two weeks painting the outside of her house, a very fun and relaxing job and Tamalyn painted with us. We stayed during the month of February and it was Mardi Gras season, perfect time to visit New Orleans, Tamalyn took us to see different concerts of her musician friends, showed us around the city, the bayou, and even gave us a oriental belly dancing class!
Her home is beautiful and she has two wonderful cats who are very cute.
I really want to visit her again someday, I highly recommend it!

Nathalie was a hard worker and learned to do things in the garden that she had never done before. She was friendly and neat, organized. I really recommend her as a Workaway guest.

I had a wonderful time at Tamalyn's beautiful and cozy house. We had many opportunities to share our experiences about the countries we have already visited during these couples of weeks together. She always invited me to explore many interesting places in New Orleans, such as musical festivals, museums, parks, restaurants, bars and dancing
… read more classes as well. She was patient to teach me gardening skills, which I appreciated a lot. I had plenty of free time to take my French course while I stayed at her place. I highly recommend Workawayers this experience! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Tamalyn was super flexible, kind and generous. We shared meals and stories together and chatted about local and National politics.
I enjoyed weeding Tamalyn’s garden and checking out her costume fabrics and hemming some veils for her dance students. She even let me borrow her machine for my own projects! Recommend if you’re looking for a more
