Location: We are 20 minutes south of Kona in a rural agricultural area. We are 1 mile from Kealakekua Bay, where the turquoise clear waters are a swimmer's paradise. Throughout different times, there are dolphins, whales, turtles, fish, coral - It is a rural, agricultural area...and yet only a few minutes from the ocean.

Overview of Farm: We have unique, family-run, 2 acre mango farm on the Big Island, ~ 1 mile from Kealakekua Bay. Our location and the farm is a wonderful place for a couple to thrive, learn, and grow. We are committed to living in an organic, sustainable lifestyle and want to bring other like-minded people who visit our farm.

On the farm we have 60 mango trees including 8 different varieties. There are a number of banana varietals, lime, lemon, orange, papaya, guava, longan, pineapple, ulu (breadfruit) and avocado. We also have a 30 foot circular garden for produce and herbs as well as raised beds and small gardens around the property that are drip irrigated. You are more than welcome to grow food here. We are at 400 feet above sea level, so there is warm weather year-around. We bought our farm in September of 2010 and use organic, sustainable and permaculture farming practices. Our property has significant PV solar installations, solar hot water, water catchment and purification nd we are striving to be fully self-supportive for water and food.

About Us: We are a married couple in our 40s with our awesome 9 year old daughter. In addition to the farm, we both work full-time from home (Paul online and Heather as a massage therapist). Paul is interested in many sytles of yoga and fitness, plant medicine, sustainability, first-aid and survival skills and Heather has an on-site massage studio, enjoys yin yoga, as well as gardening, cooking, dancing and swimming. Our main shared hobbies are Brazillian Zouk, snow sports and travel. We are avid foodies and we host occassional gatherings, potlucks, dance parties, and concert viewings. We also do some farm projects together including maintenance of the garden. The vibe is mellow and we both enjoy privacy and life together as a farm. There's a lot of passion around food, plant-medicine, art, music and sustainable living.

This year's goals include: Potentially opening our eco-vacation rental and farm business. Educating all guests on sustainable tourism including recycling, energy and water usage and eco-friendly products like sunscreen. Building fences for planting lilikoi (passionfruit)

Sample farm schedule: 1-2 hours in the late morning, weekly dump run and tasks with a schedule you can set with us

This area does not have any mass transit. Hitch hiking is common and easy. You will have *very limited* access to our personal truck for 1) a weekly dump runs and 2) a personal errand run into Captain Cook.
