  We're happy you're visiting. We are Brigitte and Christoph, and since 2018 we have been working on our small farm (1.2 hectares) using organic methods (permaculture). Our goal is to live a self-sufficient life, growing plenty of vegetables and fruit, and raising a small number of chickens and ducks.
  
  We have difficult terrain, with many stones, rocks, and little fertile soil, very irregular rainfall, high solar radiation, and winds that dry out the soil; in reality, absolutely unsuitable for agriculture or horticulture! We accepted the challenge of making this land fertile again (with great success in most cases) and have come very close to a self-sufficient life. Our farm is located about 2 km from the village, surrounded by wild nature with all kinds of wildlife; the nearest neighbor is 800 meters away. So it's very quiet, and nightclubs aren't exactly around the corner ;-)).
  
  We collect rainwater in several tanks, which has allowed us to significantly reduce our water consumption (for irrigation and domestic use). Electricity is generated by a solar system, and in winter, we sometimes need a generator. We get our drinking water from a spring. Virtually every drop of water we need is reused three times. We'll show you how we do it right here!
  
  Improving the soil and increasing its fertility is a long process, but since 2024, we've been "producing" soil in some areas of the garden, which we then reuse in other places. This way, step by step, we can expand the cultivated area. We plant a wide variety of vegetables: tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, zucchini, various lettuces and cabbages, onions, beans, garlic, and potatoes. In addition, there are many fruit trees and olive trees.
  
  Starting in September, we sow vegetables again in the greenhouse and transplant them to the fields. At the same time, we continue harvesting and processing peppers, zucchini, tomatoes, and eggplants. In October and November, the olive harvest and subsequent processing take place. As you can see, you certainly won't be bored here ;-))
  
  Upcoming projects include planting more fruit trees and berry bushes (the idea is similar to an edible forest), establishing bee colonies, clearing more land, rebuilding old terrace walls, creating a medicinal herb garden, and improving our chicken farming. We bake our own bread, produce our own olive oil, want to dry more herbs and fruits, and have many other ideas!
  
  Now you can get a sense of what life is like here. And if you're interested in learning about all of this in an active and practical way, you're very welcome to join us. Actively learning means collaborating, contributing ideas, learning, asking questions, and feeling responsible for the overall outcome! We don't require any prior knowledge, but we do need genuine interest! And if you're planning a similar project, you're sure to get plenty of useful ideas.
  
  What do we offer here (besides work and learning ;-)):

  - Trustworthiness and the ability to openly address any issues that arise. - that you are willing to work with us 35 hours a week, although "overtime" may occasionally arise (there are also days off!).

  We do not accept impersonal applications or those from people who are unwilling to immerse themselves in this simple life on this small farm because their priority is an online job (digital nomads!).

  Nos alegra que nos visites. Somos Brigitte y Christoph, y desde 2018 trabajamos en nuestra pequeña granja (1,2 ha) de forma ecológica (permacultura). Nuestro objetivo es llevar una vida autosuficiente, con muchas verduras y frutas, y una pequeña cría de gallinas y patos.
  
  Tenemos un terreno difícil, con muchas piedras, rocas y poca tierra fértil, con precipitaciones muy irregulares, mucha radiación solar y vientos que resecan el suelo; en realidad, ¡absolutamente inadecuado para la agricultura o la horticultura! Aceptamos el reto de volver a hacer fértil este terreno (con gran éxito en gran parte) y nos hemos acercado mucho a una vida autosuficiente. Nuestra granja se encuentra a unos 2 km del pueblo, rodeada de naturaleza salvaje con toda clase de animales silvestres; el vecino más cercano está a 800 metros. Así que hay mucho silencio y las discotecas no están precisamente a la vuelta de la esquina ;-)).
  
  Recogemos agua de lluvia en varios depósitos, lo que nos ha permitido reducir considerablemente el consumo de agua (para riego y uso doméstico); la electricidad se genera mediante un sistema solar y, en invierno, a veces necesitamos un generador. El agua potable la obtenemos de un manantial. Prácticamente cada gota de agua que necesitamos se reutiliza tres veces. ¡Te mostraremos cómo lo hacemos aquí mismo!
  
  Mejorar el suelo y aumentar su fertilidad es un proceso largo, pero desde 2024 «producimos» tierra en algunas zonas de la huerta, que luego reutilizamos en otros lugares y así, paso a paso, podemos ampliar la superficie de cultivo. En ella plantamos una gran variedad de hortalizas: tomates, pimientos, berenjenas, calabacines, diversas lechugas y coles, cebollas, judías, ajos y patatas; además, hay muchos árboles frutales y olivos.
  
  A partir de septiembre se vuelven a sembrar hortalizas en el invernadero y se trasplantan al campo. Paralelamente, se siguen cosechando y procesando pimientos, calabacines, tomates y berenjenas. En octubre y noviembre llega la cosecha de aceitunas y su posterior procesamiento. Ya ves, aquí seguro que no te aburrirás ;-))
  
  Proyectos pendientes: plantar más árboles frutales y arbustos de bayas (la idea es similar a un bosque comestible), establecer colonias de abejas, desbrozar más terreno, reconstruir antiguos muros de terrazas, creando un jardín de hierbas medicinales y mejorar la cría de gallinas. Hacemos nuestro propio pan, producimos nuestro propio aceite de oliva, queremos secar más hierbas y frutas, ¡y tenemos muchas otras ideas!
  
  Ahora ya te puedes hacerte una idea de cómo es nuestra vida aquí. Y si te interesa conocerlo todo esto de forma activa y práctica, serás bienvenido entre nosotros. ¡Conocerlo de forma activa significa colaborar, aportar ideas, aprender, hacer preguntas y sentirse responsable del resultado común! No exigimos conocimientos previos, ¡pero sí un interés genuino! Y si estás planeando un proyecto similar, seguro que te llevarás muchas ideas útiles.

  Schoen, dass Du bei uns reinschaust. Wir sind Brigitte und Christoph und arbeiten seit 2018 auf unserer kleinen Farm (1.2ha) in oekologischer Weise (Permakultur). Das Ziel ist ein autarkes Leben fuehren zu koennen, mit viel Gemuese, Obst und einer ueberschaubaren Huehner- und Enten-Haltung.
  
  Wir haben ein schwieriges Gelaende mit vielen Steinen, Felsen und wenig guter Erde, mit sehr unregelmaessigen Regenfaellen, viel Sonneneinstrahlung und austrocknenden Winden - eigentlich absolut nicht geeignet fuer Landwirtschaft oder Gartenbau! Die Herausforderung, dieses Gelaende wieder fruchtbar zu machen, nahmen wir (in grossen Teilen erfolgreich) an und sind einem autarken Leben ein grosses Stueck naeher gekommen. Unsere Farm liegt ca 2 km vom Ort entfernt, umgeben von Wildniss mit all den verschiedenen Wildtieren, der naechste Nachbar ist 800 Meter weit entfernt. So ist viel Stille vorhanden und Discotheken sind nicht gerade um die Ecke ;-)).
  
  Wir sammeln Regenwasser in verschiedenen Deposits, konnten den Wasserverbrauch (fuer Bewaesserung und Haushalt) stark reduzieren, der Strom wird mit einer Solaranlage hergestellt und in der Winterzeit brauchen wir manchmal einen Generator. Das Trinkwasser holen wir an einer Quelle. Fast jeder Tropfen Wasser, den wir fuer uns brauchen, wird quasi 3 mal genutzt. Wie das geht, das zeigen wir Dir hier vor Ort!
  
  Den Boden aufzubauen und die Fruchtbarkeit zu erhoehen ist ein langwieriger Prozess doch seit 2024 “produzieren” wir in machen Bereichen des Gartenbaus Erde, die wir dann an anderer Stelle wieder einsetzen und so Schritt fuer Schritt die Anbauflaeche erweitern koennen. Darauf pflanzen wir eine Vielfalt von Gemuese: Tomaten, Paprika, Aubergine, Zucchini, diverse Salate und Kohlarten, Zwiebel, Bohnen, Knoblauch und Kartoffeln; ausserdem gibt es viele Obst- und Olivenbaeume.
  
  Ab Spetember wird wieder Gemuese im Gewaechhaus vorgezogen und ausgepflanzt. Parallel werden noch Paprika, Zucchini, Tomaten und Auberginen geerntet und verarbeitet. Im Oktober und November steht die Olivenernte an und deren weitere Verarbeitung. Du siehst, es wird Dir hier garantiert nicht langweilig ;-))
  
  Anstehende Projekte: mehr Obstbaeume und Beerenstraeucher pflanzen (die Idee ist aehnlich einem essbaren Wald), Bienenvoelker ansiedeln, weiteres Gelaende von Gestruepp befreien, alte Terrassenmauern wieder aufbauen, ein Heilkraeutergarten entsteht und die Huehnerhaltung soll verbessert werden. Wir machen unser eigenes Brot, stellen eigenes Olivenoel her, wollen mehr Kraeuter und Fruechte trocknen und noch viele andere Ideen!
  
  Jetzt kannst Du Dir ein Bild von unserem Leben hier machen. Und wenn Du interessiert bist, dies in der Praxis aktiv kennen zu lernen, dann bist Du willkommen bei uns. Aktiv kennen lernen heisst mitarbeiten, mitdenken, lernen, Fragen stellen und sich verantwortlich fuehlen fuer das gemeinsame Ergebnis! Wir setzen keine Kenntnisse voraus, dafuer aber richtiges Interesse! Und falls Du ein aehnliches Projekt planst, dann kannst Du bestimmt sehr viel dafuer mitnehmen.
  
  Was bieten wir Dir hier (ausser Arbeit und Lernen ;-)):
  - wohnen und leben in der Natur mit Plaetzen zum abschalten und meditieren, sich selbst wieder finden, sein Leben neu auszurichten

  Im Gegenzug erwarten wir von Dir:
  - Kooperation und Interesse an Gemuesebau, Permakultur, Selbstversorgung
  - eine gewisse Selbstverpflichtung und Bereitschaft, Dein Bestes fuer das “gemeinsame” Projekt auf Zeit zu geben
  - dass wir uns auf Dich verlassen koennen und eventuell auftretende Probleme von beiden Seiten offen angesprochen werden duerfen
  - dass Du bereit bist, 35 Stunden in der Woche mit uns zu arbeiten, wobei manchmal auch “Ueberstunden” anfallen koennen (es gibt auch freie Tage!).
  
  Also, wenn Du Dich bei dieser Schilderung angesprochen fuehlst, dann schreibe uns und wir senden Dir mehr Information. Ein geplanter Aufenthalt von vier Wochen waere schoen, damit Du wirklich etwas fuer Dich mitnehmen kannst.

  La zona tiene mucha historia y el valle está formado por muchos pueblecitos que esperan ser descubiertos. Podemos mostrarte algunos yacimientos prehistóricos, así como hacer impresionantes caminatas por barrancos escarpados (cauces secos), excavados en la piedra caliza.
  
  ¿Tus oportunidades de aprendizaje? Simplemente sumérgete en esta zona, en una vida sencilla pero rica, y empápate de toda la información que puedas aprovechar. Und wir möchten gerne unser Spanisch verbessern ;-)
  
  Die Gegend hat eine lange Geschichte und das Tal besteht aus vielen kleinen Dörfern, die darauf warten, entdeckt zu werden. Wir können dir einige prähistorische Stätten zeigen und atemberaubende Wanderungen in steile Barrancos (trockene Flussbetten) unternehmen, die in den Kalkstein eingemeißelt sind.
  
  Deine Lernmöglichkeiten? Tauche einfach in diese Gegend ein, in ein einfaches, aber reichhaltiges Leben, und sauge all die Informationen auf, die du nutzen kannst. Wir hoffen, dass wir dir ein paar Dinge und Techniken beibringen können, dir einige Tipps geben können, wie du dein Leben verbessern kannst (wenn du möchtest), und wir hoffen, auch ein paar Ideen von dir zu bekommen. Du hast die Chance, deinen positiven, bleibenden Fußabdruck auf diesem schönen Stück Land zu hinterlassen!

  Help

  Work on the house (almost finished) and in the stables, land clearing, construction of rainwater harvesting systems, design and implementation (!) of permaculture, olive tree pruning, planting new trees, gardening, brush clearing, planting and harvesting vegetables, building an outdoor kitchen, a second composting toilet (the first one is already in use), maintenance of the stone terrace walls, construction of a wind turbine, and other tasks. Don't be intimidated: even someone without physical strength or manual experience, but with an open mind, can learn and do a lot here!
  
  We invite you to contribute your ideas, knowledge, and experience to ours. We know and can teach you a lot, but not everything, and we hope you will share your knowledge with us. Inventing and experimenting with "crazy" ideas is welcome.
  
  You should bring with you: sturdy work boots and clothes that can get dirty, as we don't have a smooth, green space here ;-)). A flashlight is essential, and depending on the time of year, a warm jacket and rain gear are also necessary.
  We'll provide towels, sheets, and shower soap (because the water is reused in the composting toilet, and worms don't like perfumes or chemicals).

  Trabajos en la casa (casi terminados) y en los establos, limpieza del terreno, construcción de sistemas de recogida de agua, diseño y puesta en práctica (!) de permacultura, poda de olivos, plantación de nuevos árboles, jardinería, desbroce, plantación y recolección de hortalizas, construcción de una cocina al aire libre, un segundo baño de compostaje (el primero ya está en funcionamiento), mantenimiento de los muros de piedra de las terrazas, construcción de un sistema de energía eólica y otras tareas. No te asustes: ¡incluso una persona sin fuerza física y sin experiencia manual, pero con una mente abierta, puede aprender y hacer muchas cosas aquí!
  
  Te invitamos a aportar tus ideas, conocimientos y experiencias a los nuestros. Sabemos y podemos enseñarte mucho, pero no todo, y esperamos que compartas tus conocimientos con nosotros. Inventar y experimentar con ideas «locas» es bienvenido.
  
  Debes traer contigo: botas de trabajo resistentes y ropa que se pueda ensuciar, ya que aquí no tenemos un terreno verde y liso ;-)). Una linterna es imprescindible y, dependiendo de la época del año, una chaqueta abrigada y algo para la lluvia.
  Te daremos toallas, sábanas y jabón para la ducha (porque el agua se reutiliza en el baño de compostaje y a las lombrices no les gustan los perfumes ni los productos químicos).

  Bauarbeiten am und im Haus (fast fertig) sowie an den Ställen, Rodung des Grundstücks, Anlage von Wasserauffangbecken, Planung und Umsetzung (!) von Permakultur, Beschneiden von Olivenbäumen, Pflanzen neuer Bäume, Gartenarbeit, Unkrautjäten, Anpflanzen und Ernten von Gemüse, Bau einer Außenküche, einer zweiten Komposttoilette (eine ist bereits in Betrieb), Instandhaltung der Steinmauern der Terrassen, Bau einer Windkraftanlage und vieles mehr. Keine Angst: Selbst eine schwache Person ohne handwerkliche Erfahrung, aber mit einer offenen Einstellung, kann hier viel lernen und tun!
  
  Du bist herzlich eingeladen, deine Ideen, dein Wissen und deine Erfahrungen zu unseren beizutragen. Wir wissen und können dir viel beibringen, aber nicht alles, und wir hoffen, dass du dein Wissen mit uns teilst. Das Erfinden und Experimentieren mit „verrückten“ Ideen ist willkommen.
  
  Du solltest mitbringen: feste Arbeitsstiefel und Kleidung, die schmutzig werden darf, da wir hier kein glattes, grünes Land haben ;-)). Eine Taschenlampe ist unverzichtbar und je nach Jahreszeit eine warme Jacke und etwas gegen Regen.
  Wir stellen dir Handtücher, Bettwäsche und Seife für die Dusche zur Verfügung (da das Wasser in der Komposttoilette wiederverwendet wird und Würmer kein Parfüm oder Chemikalien mögen).

  Accommodation

  We have two caravans, each with two beds. There's a separate room for one person or a couple. An outdoor bathroom is located next to our house, a short walk from the accommodations. Conditions are simple, with limited access to electricity, internet, and water.
  
  We share the work and, therefore, the meals. Vegetarian meals can be prepared upon request. We eat some meat and fish, but not very often. We don't smoke, but you are welcome to smoke outside. We sometimes enjoy local wine and invite you to join us. There is limited Wi-Fi, but no television.
  
  We kindly ask that you plan a stay with us of at least 4 to 6 weeks. Just getting to know us takes a few days, and getting to know the farm and our work takes a few more ;-)). Therefore, we expect a certain level of commitment and a genuine interest in gardening, permaculture, self-sufficiency, and community living.
  
  Of course, longer stays are also possible. You just have to ask us.

  Disponemos de dos caravanas con dos camas cada una. Una habitación independiente para una persona o una pareja. Hay un cuarto de baño al aire libre junto a nuestra casa, a poca distancia de los alojamientos. ¡Las condiciones son sencillas, con acceso limitado a la electricidad, a Internet y al agua!
  
  Compartimos el trabajo y, por lo tanto, compartimos las comidas. Se pueden preparar comidas vegetarianas si es necesario. Comemos algo de carne y pescado, pero no muy a menudo. No fumamos, pero puedes fumar fuera de la casa. A veces disfrutamos del vino local y te invitamos a que te unas a nuestra vida. Hay wifi limitado, pero no hay televisión.
  
  Te pedimos amablemente que planifiques una estancia con nosotros de al menos 4 a 6 semanas.
  Solo conocernos lleva unos días y conocer la granja y nuestro trabajo lleva unos días más ;-)). Por eso esperamos de ti cierto compromiso y un interés real por la jardinería, la permacultura, la autosuficiencia y la vida en comunidad.
  
  Por supuesto, también son posibles estancias más largas; solo tienes que preguntarnos.

  Es stehen zwei Wohnwagen mit je zwei Betten zur Verfügung. Ein separates Zimmer für eine Person oder ein Paar. Ein Außenbad ist an unser Haus angeschlossen und befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe der Unterkünfte. Die Ausstattung ist einfach, was Strom, Internet und Wasser betrifft!!!!!
  
  Wir teilen uns die Arbeit und somit auch die Mahlzeiten. Vegetarische Mahlzeiten sind bei Bedarf möglich. Wir essen gelegentlich Fleisch und Fisch, aber nicht allzu oft. Wir sind Nichtraucher, du darfst jedoch außerhalb des Hauses rauchen. Manchmal genießen wir den lokalen Wein und du bist herzlich eingeladen, an unserem Leben teilzunehmen. Es gibt begrenztes WLAN, jedoch keinen Fernseher.
  
  Wir bitten dich, einen Aufenthalt von mindestens 4–6 Wochen bei uns einzuplanen.
  Allein das Kennenlernen dauert ein paar Tage, und das Kennenlernen des Hofes und unserer Arbeit dauert noch ein paar Tage länger ;-)). Wir erwarten daher von dir ein gewisses Maß an Engagement und echtes Interesse an Gartenarbeit, Permakultur, Selbstversorgung und dem Leben in einer Gemeinschaft.
  
  Natürlich sind auch längere Aufenthalte hier möglich – frag uns einfach.

  What else ...

  In exchange for food and lodging, we hope you'll help us around the farm, house, or garden for 4 to 5 hours a day, with 2 day off, 5 days a week. We try to organize the schedule well, but sometimes we have to finish a job earlier than planned due to weather conditions; that's life in the countryside.
  We live in a secluded and peaceful rural location, "in the middle of nowhere," so there are no parties or nightclubs around the corner ;-).
  You should be able to adapt to this situation, as you'll enjoy some time away from the noise and distractions of the city. Our place is ideal for sitting in the sun or the shade of a tree to read, meditate, or simply relax and listen to the sounds of nature!
  
  The nearest town is 2 km away. There are climbing and hiking trails available from the house or nearby. To get to the beach or larger towns, you'll need to use public transport (we'll take you to the bus stop). We invite you to join us for shopping, excursions, and other activities.
  
  Access: From Valencia Airport, there is a bus south to Dénia; from Alicante Airport, there is a bus to Calpe. These are the locations where we will pick you up.

  A cambio de comida y alojamiento, esperamos que nos ayudes en la granja, la casa o el jardín entre 4 y 5 horas al día, con un descanso, 5 días a la semana. Intentamos organizar bien el horario, pero a veces tenemos que terminar un trabajo antes de lo previsto debido a las condiciones meteorológicas; así es la vida en el campo.
  Vivimos en un lugar rural apartado y tranquilo, «en medio de la nada», así que no hay fiestas ni discotecas a la vuelta de la esquina ;-).
  Deberías poder adaptarte a esta situación, ya que disfrutarás de un tiempo sin los ruidos y las distracciones de la ciudad. ¡Nuestro lugar es ideal para sentarse al sol o a la sombra de un árbol a leer, meditar o simplemente relajarse y escuchar los sonidos de la naturaleza!
  
  El pueblo más cercano está a 2 km. Hay rutas de escalada y senderismo disponibles desde la casa o en las inmediaciones. Para llegar a la playa o a las ciudades más grandes hay que utilizar el transporte público (te llevaremos a la parada de autobús). Te invitamos a acompañarnos a hacer la compra, a hacer excursiones y a otras actividades.
  
  Acceso: desde el aeropuerto de Valencia hay un autobús hacia el sur que va a Dénia; desde el aeropuerto de Alicante hay un autobús que va a Calpe. Estos son los lugares donde te recogeremos.

  Als Gegenleistung für Verpflegung und Unterkunft erwarten wir, dass du uns 5 Tage die Woche 4–5 Stunden täglich mit einer Pause auf dem Hof, im Haus oder im Garten hilfst. Wir versuchen, einen festen Zeitplan einzuhalten, doch manchmal müssen wir eine Arbeit aufgrund der Wetterbedingungen vorzeitig beenden – so ist das Leben auf dem Bauernhof.
  Wir leben an einem abgelegenen und ruhigen Ort auf dem Land, „mitten im Nirgendwo“ – Partys und Discos gibt es also nicht gleich um die Ecke ;-).
  Du solltest mit dieser Situation zurechtkommen, da du eine Zeit ohne den Lärm und die Ablenkungen einer Stadt erleben wirst. Unser Ort ist ideal, um in der Sonne oder im Schatten eines Baumes zu sitzen, zu lesen, zu meditieren oder einfach nur zu entspannen und den Geräuschen der Natur zu lauschen!
  
  Das nächste Dorf ist 2 km entfernt. Kletter- und Wanderrouten gibt es direkt vom Haus aus oder in der näheren Umgebung. Um zum Strand oder in die größeren Städte zu gelangen, musst du öffentliche Verkehrsmittel nutzen (wir bringen dich zur Bushaltestelle). Du bist herzlich eingeladen, uns beim Einkaufen, bei Ausflügen und anderen Aktivitäten zu begleiten.
  
  Anreise: Vom Flughafen Valencia fährt ein Bus in Richtung Süden nach Dénia, vom Flughafen Alicante fährt ein Bus nach Calpe. An diesen Orten holen wir dich ab.
