Linda and ray are both wonderful hosts. I was welcomed with open arms from the beginning. I was there for a total of just over two weeks and did not think it would be so hard for me to leave. I was able to settle in super fast, the people on the farm are all super nice. The girls who ride there always help you and are also really great. I have

Nothing that would overwhelm you at first sight. Brockville as a town is really super cute. I will keep the time there in very good memory. Both really good host and a great workaway. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Sarina was hard working and very helpful around the stables. Very pleasant to have around …wished she could have stayed longer.

I spent 2 months on Lindas farm and in her family. I felt welcomed by them from the beginning till the end of my stay. They were very kind to me and made sure that I had everything I needed (didn't matter if it was food or additional clothes for working, because I was there during the winter and I wasn't good enough prepared for the Canadian
… read more climate...). They also had a new puppy when I came, another Dog and one cat. One week before I left they also got two new barn cats. I loved all their pets, they were super friendly and I will miss all of them so much, but especially the little puppy! I liked the experience to work on a farm and the tasks are like in her profile descriped. We would bring the horses in and out, feed them, water them, muck out their stalls and tack them up for the kids lessons. I also got to ride some of Lindas horses and I really loved it. :) I also got to explore the area around Brockville and I made a lot of trips to near by cities like Ottawa and Kingston. Overall I just really liked this experience and I would recommend it 100%! :)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I think Linda deserve more credit than her profile is showing because her last review was 2017. When I first saw that, I wasn't sure if I would or should message this host but I am glad I did!
This is my first work away and I wasn't sure what to expect but they showed me nothing but lots of kindness.
I was there at the horse farm for 2 weeks
… read more (8th Dec to 21st Dec) and oh damn I wished I could have spent Xmas over there because they would whip up a feast. (Ray is a really good cook!) Oh man I miss the Gin ale soda that Linda showed me how she made it!
There was Linda, Ray (Linda's husband), Randy (Linda's brother) and her son who came back for the holidays. They are a really nice family where they will make sure you are fed well, make sure you had all the things you need and cook you yummy dishes on some nights. If I knew I could cook there for them, I would bring the spices I would need to make an authentic singapore food, at least how Singaporeans would make it. I enjoyed my interactions with the family and I wished my time there would be longer.
I was helping out with Linda and Randy at the farm for the morning chores and night chores. The work wasn't hard though can be quite tiring because I wasn't used to it but I like it that I am working with horses. In general, I like the big animals.
Since I didn't had a car so I never thought of exploring any where else other than than the nearby Brockville town. Then again, you could always explore any place else. If you like or want to attempt riding, you could check in with Linda if she could show you the ropes. I tried riding maverick twice and ooo it was fun. Riding is indeed an exercise! If you say otherwise, try riding first!
Hopefully I would be back someday in the future to visit you guys again!!
Take care and see you guys! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I had a really great time with the horses. The family is very welcoming, trying to show you their ways of life. I learnt a lot about the daily horse care tasks. The work was based on mucking out the stalls, feeding, watering, tacking up horses, bringing horses in to the barn and let them out, helping with riding horses in the arena and others
… read more horse chores. I have also a pleasure to ride the horses:) Thank you for that! Each evening we were playing board games, watching the movies or just talking and in the morning I had the most unexpected but how nice alarm...sounds of the meowing kitten near my ears:) cause the cats and the dogs were the parts of the family too. Once again thank you that I could spend that month with you. It was an unforgettable experience and it taught me a lot!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
