Description
We Aurelie and Andreas are an open-minded German/French family with two children (9 and 10 years old) living in the beautiful department of Gers in an old farm from the 17th century.
Our house is also a pilgrims' hostel, but we also welcome "normal" people ;) Because you have to live from something. :)
However, you would have nothing to do with the hostel, unless you want to talk to our guests and exchange experiences.
We think that we are very open-minded, tolerant and open to new ideas and suggestions. We try to protect the environment and make a small contribution to renaturation. But we are not vegetarians.
Our current projects are the development and design of a permaculture garden for fruit and vegetables. Furthermore, we have acquired 2 hectares of former farmland, which we want to renaturalise and shape.
Our small eco house, which we have built from clay and straw over the last few years, is almost finished. However, there is always one or the other thing to do there.
Oh and before I forget, we think we are sympathetic and hope you do tooTypes of help and learning opportunities

Help
The most important thing for us is that you are independent. Otherwise, you should be somewhat practical and if you are handy, that would be great.
Your work area would also be correspondingly.
There is always something to do in the garden and on the grounds. Trimming trees or mowing the lawn. Planting or processing vegetables. Maybe you can build a new chicken coop or nail down a board or two.
Most of the time you will work alone after a briefing, so you can manage your own time. We expect you to work about 4-5 hours a day. If you work a full day, you can take the next day off to look around or lie in the hammock. However, in the summer it can be very hot, so we recommend getting up very early during this time.Languages

Since many languages are spoken here, we are of course happy to share this with you. But we are not professional teachers and do not have the time to teach you grammar. It will be a daily exchange with each other.Accommodation
If you are not travelling with a camper van, you can sleep in our caravan. If it is too cold for that, we would accommodate you in the hostel or in the small eco house.
We will of course provide your food. However, you will have to prepare it yourself. We would go shopping with you, then you can choose what you want. You can prepare it in the hostel, where there is a complete modern kitchen and plenty of space.
Surely we also eat together sometimesWhat else ...
As we live in the middle of the countryside, mobility is important. Having your own car would be ideal. Otherwise, we can take you to the next town in the morning when we take the children to school. There is also a train connection to Toulouse or Auch.
Of course, you can explore the whole of southern France by car from here. If you have a day off, it's even worth taking a trip to the Mediterranean (2 hours) or even the Atlantic (3 hours). The mountains are not far away either (2.5 h). Closer by, of course, are Toulouse or Auch (0.5h), Carcasson (1.5h) or all the cultural and sporting highlights nearby. Bathing lakes are about 30 minutes away, swimming pools 10 or 20 minutes.A little more information
