    Description

We live between Javea and Moraira, popular seaside towns on the beautiful Costa Blanca. Our modern villa is in a quiet area, on a 1000m plot, with a swimming pool, large sunroom and good internet provision.
It's just the two of us most of the time, my husband and myself, unless one of our grown-up children is visiting, and our 5 cats and two dogs 🙂
We are looking for someone for 1-3 weeks in May to help with completing some small projects around the house and garden. Some painting, moving gravel and stone paving for paths, building a raised bed, jet washing, helping us put a new cover on the carport, things like that! So ideally someone strong with good DIY experience or who enjoys working outside would be perfect.
4/5 hours a day, mornings are preferred but not critical.
It's up to you if you prefer to prepare your own food, or share our meal, we don't eat meat but we do eat fish. You are welcome to use our kitchen but we prefer not to have meat cooked in our home. Breakfast items will always be available.
Two of our cats have special needs and are not allowed outside, so we need to be really careful with opening doors so they don't get out and come to harm. All our pets are extremely affectionate so if cuddling cats and dogs is your thing you will be in heaven!
There is on-street parking right outside. Public transport around here isn't great so a vehicle is ideally needed to get around. There is a bus station in Javea we are happy to pick you up from, or a shuttle comes from Alicante airport, which nearest stop is nearby in Benitachell. Taxis are available in Javea too, for a reasonable cost, or if we're able to we can help with lifts/shopping.
We have a quiet relaxed home, there are plenty of sun loungers and spaces to relax, play ping pong, read, we usually just chill out with TV in the evenings, maybe a beer or game of pool on the terrace, there are hundreds of restaurants catering for all tastes within ten minutes of the house which also deliver. There are many local villages to visit, miles of hiking terrain, the clifftops of the Cumbre, it's a very beautiful area for nature lovers and we look forward to sharing it with you.

I speak English, French and reasonable Spanish, my husband speaks English. He is a kitchen and bathroom fitter and we run a small team of local builders.
We love this area of Spain, the old towns steeped in history, the unspoilt nature, the stunning beaches and coves, as well as the more cosmopolitan bars and restaurants, there is something for everyone.

We can host one person or two people maximum in a twin or double bedroom. The rest of the facilities are shared with us. There is a shower room, no bath. We run off our solar energy as much as possible and this heats our hot water. We have a washing machine, laundry is dried outside, or on the terrace in bad weather. We have a log burner we use on colder evenings in the lounge, we don't have central heating. The house is all on one level, there is no traffic noise.

Local places to visit include the caves, you can climb the Montgo if you're feeling energetic, visit the Sunday artisan market at Jesus Pobre, or the Friday general market in Moraira. Walk along the seafront from Javea's Arenal beach to the port, go for a coffee in the old town. Visit the many, many local coves and beaches like el Portet, Granadella, or further afield in Oliva. Valencia city is a little over an hour away on the motorway, or Benidorm offers different sights! A little inland the Jalon Valley offers a different landscape, and more rural villages and walks. Denia is our nearest town with a hospital, ferries to Ibiza, and amazing food hall, there is lots to do and see.
