Description
We are a married couple with a daughter who lives in Vancouver. We have resided here since 2016. Our acreage was bare land before moving here. It has been a blank canvas for us to create our dream home and property.
We are both musicians and play at every opportunity, locally, During the summer we often play at the
Powell River Farmer’s Market. Paul is an active volunteer fire fighter.
I like to cook and we both enjoy having visitors, be it family or friends. We have a chocolate lab (Coco) who loves Frisbee catching and swimming. Hiking is way up there on her list too. We also have two cats (Ollie and Mollie) and they are always ready for a snuggle.Types of help and learning opportunities

The Upper Sunshine Coast of B.C. is a beautiful place to spend time in. There are numerous outdoor activities, such as hiking, boating, fishing. The Sunshine Coast trail is the longest free hut to hut hiking trail that gives one access to the beauty that the west coast of Canada has to offer. We also have whales passing through quite regularly. There is a large music and artist population to enjoy.
Help
We have 9 acres to upkeep. The garden is about 7 years old and I need some help getting it under control and building good soil. There is also bramble to clear.

Accommodation
We have a comfortable fifth wheel camper with electricity, internet and a working fridge but not a working washroom. There is an outhouse close by and you are welcome to use the washroom/shower in the main house. We also have an outdoor shower with solar heated water.
We will provide all food and try to accommodate any preferences or sensitivities. What else ...
I should mention how to get here. We are on the Upper Sunshine Coast and there are a few ways to get here. If coming from Vancouver you would take a ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale. During summer months there is the Sunshine Coast Connector
( ) that you would connect with in Langdale. If you look on their website there is more information. You can also fly from Vancouver on Pacific Coastal Airlines or Harbour Air. If coming from Vancouver Island, you would take a ferry from Comox to Powell River.
In addition to the outdoor activities mentioned, we do have a number of music festivals here during the spring/summer months. There is also easy access to Vancouver island (1 1/2 hour ferry ride) for exploring. Savary Island has a lovely beach for those sun lovers and is also easy to get to.
Last year was our first year hosting Workaway guests. We had such a positive experience with every one of our visitors that we are really looking forward to hosting again this year!A little more information
