  Hello, my name is Priscilla and together with my husband Marcos and our dogs Gauchita and Krah we are building a shelter in the town of Ñirehuao, Commune of Coyhaique, Region of Aysén Carlos Ibañez del Campo, Chilean Patagonia. This region is very special, since, if you want to access it only by land, you can only do it from Argentina, since Chile can only be accessed by plane, or on a bimodal route, where you must travel by ferry for several kilometers of the section, the trip is wonderful, you can see the Evergreen Patagonia from its beginnings and the formation of its abundant fjords of life. Our refuge is located in a rural sector, called Lago Largo, due to its proximity to a lake of the same name, it is half a hectare of native forest mainly made up of Lengas, in this place you can be in peace and harmony, and totally disconnected from the noise of the world, since an intermittent internet signal arrives, there is no light pollution, to access electricity we have an electric generator and we do not have sewerage. In summer the temperatures are mild, with the presence of rain, in winter, the temperatures drop below 0° Celsius and snow falls, which gives a beautiful white spectacle. In the field it is very common to be able to watch native birds of Patagonia, as well as other species of flora and fauna native to this area of the planet. In the summer you can enjoy long days, since, due to our position on the planet, we have around 15 hours of daylight, while in winter, the silence and the snow invite you to a deep connection with your interior. Together with my husband we have a lifestyle oriented towards the care and preservation of the environment, we have a simple construction, since we believe that the best quality of life is delivered by nature and its simplicity. I am a primary school teacher with a specialization in Science and also an Alternative Therapist, my husband is a Legal Technician and an Environmental Educator, we are lovers of outdoor activities and that is why we started this dream of creating a refuge immersed in the forest, where everyone can feel welcome and connect with nature. For us it is very important that you like animals and life in the open air, our dogs are adventurous, very affectionate and always attentive to receive pampering. If you like astronomy, the field has a view of the "Valle de la Luna" of the town of Ñirehuao, 20 kms. approximately, a place that is characterized by a special geography, which simulates the surface of the Moon. You will also be able to observe clean skies suitable for astronomical observation. Two types of marked ecosystems of Patagonia can be observed in the area, the Nothafagus pumilio forests, and the Patagonian steppe. Close to the countryside, there are nature reserves with hiking and trekking, climbing areas, lakes and rivers, fishing areas, and 64 kms. is the city of Coyhaique, capital city of the region.
  
  
  
  Hola, mi nombre es Priscilla y junto a mi esposo Marcos y nuestra perritas Gauchita y Krah estamos construyendo un refugio en la Localidad de Ñirehuao, Comuna de Coyhaique, Región de Aysén Carlos Ibañez del Campo, Patagonia Chilena. Ésta región es muy especial, ya que, si quieres acceder solo por tierra, solo puedes hacerlo desde Argentina, ya que, por Chile solo tiene acceso por avión, o en una ruta bimodal, donde debes viajar en ferry por varios kilómetros del tramo, el viaje es maravilloso, se observa la Patagonia Siempre Verde desde sus inicios y la formación de sus fiordos abundantes de vida.
  Nuestro refugio se encuentra en un sector rural, llamado Lago Largo, por su cercanía a un lago del mismo nombre, es media hectárea de bosque nativo principalmente compuesto por Lengas, en éste lugar puedes estar en paz y armonía, y totalmente desconectad/a del ruido del mundo, ya que, llega una señal intermitente de internet, no hay contaminación lumínica, para acceder a electricidad contamos con generador eléctrico y no contamos con alcantarillado. En verano las temperaturas son templadas, con presencia de lluvia, en invierno, las temperaturas bajan de 0° Celsius y precipitación de nieve , lo que regala un hermoso y blanco espectáculo.
  En el campo es muy habitual poder realizar avistamiento de aves nativas de la Patagonia, así como otras especies de flora y fauna originarias de ésta zona del planeta.
  En el verano puedes disfrutar de largos días, ya que, por nuestra posición en el planeta contamos con alrededor de 15 horas de luz, mientras que en invierno, el silencio y la nieve te invitan a una conexión profunda con tu interior.
  Junto a mi esposo tenemos un estilo de vida orientado hacia el cuidado y preservación del medio ambiente, contamos con una construcción sencilla, ya que, creemos que la mejor calidad de vida la entrega la naturaleza y su sencillez.
  Yo soy Docente (profesora) de educación primaria con especialización en Ciencias y además Terapeuta Alternativa, mi esposo es Técnico Jurídico y Educador Ambiental, somos amantes de las actividades al aire libre y por eso comenzamos este sueño de crear un refugio inmerso en el bosque, donde todos puedan sentirse acogidos y conectarse con la naturaleza. Para nosotros es muy importante que te gusten los animales y la vida al aire libre, nuestras perritas son aventureras, muy cariñosas y siempre atentas a recibir mimos.
  Si te gusta la astronomía, el campo tiene vista hacia el "Valle de la Luna" de la localidad de Ñirehuao, a 20 kms. aproximadamente, lugar que se caracteriza por una especial geografía, que simula la superficie de la Luna. Además podrás observar cielos limpios aptos para la observación astronómica.
  En la zona se pueden observar dos tipos de ecosistemas marcados de la Patagonia, los bosques de Nothafagus pumilio, y la estepa Patagónica.
  Cercano al campo, hay reservas naturales con senderismo y trekking, zonas de escalada, lagos y ríos, zonas de pesca, y a 64 kms. se encuentra la ciudad de Coyhaique, ciudad capital de la región.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We really want to share our life experiences, from the ecological point of view that we have, for which we are willing to teach the construction of dry toilets, vermiculture, composting, simple and close environmental education, practices of minimum environmental impact in activities outdoors, which is the way we live. In addition to knowing the culture of Patagonia, and making life visible in an area as remote as this one.   Tenemos muchas ganas de compartir nuestras experiencias de vida, desde la mirada ecológica que tenemos, por lo que estamos dispuestos a enseñar la construcción de baños secos, la lombricultura, el compostaje, la educación ambiental sencilla y cercana, prácticas de mínimo impacto ambiental en actividades al aire libre, que es la forma en como vivimos.
  Además conocer la cultura de la Patagonia, y visibilizar la vida en una zona tan remota como ésta. Junto con ello, invitarles a la más profunda conexión con el bosque y todas sus enseñanzas.

  Accommodation

  The refuge is within a half-hectare land with native Lenga forest, it is a construction of 5 * 3 meters. covered and isolated, a single main room. It does not have electricity, nor water by conventional system, the electricity is obtained from a generator, and we try to take care of the use of fuel, and the water, we provide it bottled from the city, while we build the rainwater recovery system. It has a dry toilet, based on layers of sawdust, which is composted. It has an outside sink for toilet. It has a stove, with a gas stove, and kitchen utensils. To sleep, bed in recycled base. For food, we will provide merchandise and everything you need so that you can cook without problems during your stay.
  
  
  El refugio está dentro de un terreno de media hectárea con bosque nativo de Lenga, es una construcción de 5 * 3 mts. revestida y aislada, un solo ambiente.
  No tiene luz, ni agua por sistema convencional, la electricidad de obtiene de un generador, y procuramos cuidar el uso del combustible, y el agua, la proveemos nosotros embotellada desde la ciudad, mientras construimos el sistema de recuperación de aguas lluvia.
  Cuenta con un baño seco, en base a capas de aserrín, el cual se va compostando.
  Tiene un lavatorio exterior para aseo.
  Cuenta con estufa, con cocinilla a gas, y utensilios de cocina.
  Para dormir, cama en base reciclada.
  Para la alimentación, proveeremos de mercadería y todo lo necesario para que puedas cocinarte sin problema durante tu estadía.

  To access the place it is done in a 4*4 vehicle, there is a bus that passes through the main road, 12 km away. twice a day and goes to the city of Coyhaique. The area is absolutely rural, very pristine, full of outdoor activities to do, climbing sector, hiking, trekking, fishing, it does not have a good internet signal, so it really invites a trip to the forest, however when moving a few kilometers You can access an internet signal and basic provisions. We like a simple life, listening to nature over the noise of music, although we can also enjoy an artistic evening, so we hope you also like the sound of the forest. The people who live in this place are very hardworking and have great stories of the colonization of Patagonia to be told.
  
  
  Para acceder al lugar se realiza en vehículo 4*4, hay un bus que pasa por el camino principal, a 12 km. dos veces la día y se dirige a la ciudad de Coyhaique.
  La zona es absolutamente rural, muy prístina, llena de actividades outdoors para realizar, sector de escalada, senderismo, trekking, pesca, no tiene buena señal de internet, por lo que invita realmente a un viaje al bosque, sin embargo al moverse pocos kilómetros puedes acceder a señal de internet y provisiones básicas.
  Nos gusta una vida sencilla, escuchar la naturaleza por sobre el ruido de la música, aunque también podemos disfrutar de una velada artística, por lo que esperamos que también gustes del sonido del bosque.
  Las personas que viven en éste lugar son muy esforzadas y tienen grandes historias de la colonización de la Patagonia para ser contadas.
