    Description

    Hello, I'm Lola.

I’m a Canadian / Irish / British theatre actor and have been living and working in France for over 25 years. In 2022, I bought a 100-year-old stone house in a town in Ariège. Two other members of the household are my dogs: Jalia, who is very friendly and affectionate, and Sami, a recent rescue — timid but very sweet.

With the help of wonderful Workawayers from all over the world, I have been restoring the house, and there are still some projects left to complete.

This year, I’m especially looking for people who already have some hands-on DIY experience and enjoy practical, manual work. Some of the remaining tasks require attention to detail and a good sense of how things fit together.

I’ll be working alongside you and happy to guide, but I may not be able to teach everything from scratch at this stage of the project.

    Minimum stay: a week.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

There is a train station in the town, so on your days off you can get around easily. There are frequent trains to Toulouse and, in the other direction, to Foix and into the Pyrenees mountains. The town has shops, a few restaurants and cafés, a food market on Saturday mornings, and a flea market on Sundays.

I enjoy meeting new people and exchanging cultures. Of course, you will also have your own space.

I speak fluent French and can offer help with English, French, or anything related to theatre.

I would really appreciate a helping hand.

    Best regards,
    Lola

    Sami

Sami is a rescue dog who didn't have a very nice life before so he is very timid but he is getting more and more relaxed. He prefers not to have physical contact but he loves treats and will accept them from you once he's established you're not a threat. He's very calm and sweet .

    Jalia

Jalai is tiny and very friendly. She loves people and will snuggle up to you :)
