We’re ultimately wanting up to 8 helpers to join us from the 23rd August to the 14th September to put my permaculture dream into full swing in preparation for the Hibiscus Coast edible garden trail on the 13th and 14th sept.

We have 30 fruit trees to plant, daliha and flower beds to make, a 6x3m tunnel house to build, 37 chickens to look after plus 4x 9m garden beds full of veggies and lots of trees that need pruning.

We have two fab children maya who’s 9 and Jadyn who’s 6. We have had very adventurous Life I grew up on a beef and sheep farm in Margaret river west Australia and spent have spent 27 yrs travelling to world, my husband and I worked 15 yr on super yachts, he’s a marine engineer and I’m a chef. We have also do many sailing adventure on small boats.

If you choose to join us your accommodation will be at the northern wing of our house connected with a sound proof door. It’s very comfortable. There are two units with two units that can be opened up to make one big house -there are 4 rooms which have 2 queen beds, a Californian king and a king single. 2 bathrooms, 2 toilets, 2 washing machines, 2 kitchens, sofas, tvs, stereos, a bbq, large sunny verandah, undercover entertainment area.

We can do communal lunch and dinners in the main house and breakfast will be available for you to make in the apartments as the mornings get hectic trying to get the kids off to school. There’s are fridges and freezers and all sorts of kitchen utensils etc.

In exchange for gourmet food and luxurious accommodation (plus all the great memories we create together) we ask for 4hrs of help/day 5 days a wk in the garden if it’s not raining but can be flexible doing more on some days to free up days for you to go exploring etc.

There are lots of beautiful beaches and hikes close by, along with gulf harbour marina where u can get a ferry to the city or tirimatangi island to visit all the lovely birds, (we can even see tiri lighthouse from our house). We’re a 2 minute walk to the bus stop that goes to silverdale and then the city or down to gulf harbour.

We are love life, spirituality, travel, nature, yoga, eating organic and living mindfully. We hope to find some like minded people to come and stay and experience our magical homestead.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Your accomodation is located at the northern wing of our expansive cedar home. This spacious 109m² bungalow offers the perfect blend of comfort, privacy, and coastal charm. With both front and back entrances, you’ll enjoy complete independence while being surrounded by nature.

High exposed pine ceilings run throughout the bungalow, creating a warm, natural feel, while a full-length verandah invites you to unwind and soak in views of the Whangaparāoa Peninsula, Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel. From the drive you get amazing sunsets over the ocean looking towards Orewa. Walkers always stop to admire the view.

Cleverly designed, the bungalow can function as a single large home or be divided into two self-contained apartments thanks to a soundproof door down the hallway—ideal for guests seeking flexibility or privacy, great for couples, families or groups.

    Inside, you’ll find:
    • Two private bedrooms, each furnished with a comfortable queen bed
    • Two additional studio-style rooms (each 16m²), one featuring a king single bed and the other a California king bed—both with sofa couches, dining tables, TVs, soundbars, and ranch sliders opening onto the verandah

    Each apartment includes:
    • A modern bathroom with a large shower, vanity, washing machine, and toilet.
    • A fully equipped kitchen with ample storage, a large fridge/freezer, electric double cooktop, air fryer, and all utensils and crockery needed to prepare delicious meals.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your time off you could visit one of the many beaches, hike at Shakespeare national park, catch a ferry to Auckland city or Tiri tirimatangi, head to Orewa, or shoot north to walkworth/matakana etc.

as meals will be communal apart from breakfast (as I need to get my kids off to school for 9am and it all gets abit hectic) I would ask for some assistance in either meal preparation or tidying up after.

If it’s raining and we can’t work in the garden we may have to have the day off and catch up on the hrs another day but as it’s coming into spring so this should not be an issue very often.

You are also welcome to work longer days some days to free up more days for you to explore the region. I will be available from 930-230 most week days every day to help out And then again after the kids come home from school around 330.
