    Welcome!

Hello fellow travellers :) my name is Asia (Joanna) and I live in a house with a garden and I need your help. I used to travel for 10 months and did volounteering so I know how it is and how to make the place feel good and cozy for my guests. In the house there is no proper kitchen and I still wash the dishes in my bathtub (I know…) so the first and the most important project is to build a temporary kitchen with a sink and a gas stove which I already bought. It needs a worktop and a few shelves underneath. The second part of the work would be to take care of the garden which is overgrown and taken over by the snails. They are the biggest problem. So I need someone to get out there and collect them every evening. It‘s not a nice thing to do but it‘s a must if I wanna have a garden that gives me food. Till now much or my effort has gone to waste as I’m not super structured with fighting them. Right now there are many apples and plums so also collecting it and storaging for winter would be important and removing the bad ones and bringing them to compost. I have plenty of ideas for the place but first the kitchen and the garden and then we see what we could do with the skills and the time that we have :) I‘m more than happy to welcome you at my quiet place.

Please note that I can’t have volunteers with no feedback. It’s because I’m quite busy and I work full time so I can’t spend that much time with you… you’ll mostly work imependently and should be familiar know the rules of Workaway. I’m sorry for this, there is surely better place than mine to be your first great workaway experience :)

    The jobs:
    1. Gardening
I need someone to bring my lush and very wild garden back to me... The weed is growing crazy, so most of the time is weeding, watering, giving natural fertilizers. Also a big and awful work is to collect snails, which have taken over and just have a feast in my garden. I need someone to get there every evening and collect them. I would say this is probable the most important task... If you know how, we could also build the compost spot in the garden. For now it's just a pile, it needs some borders.

    2. House renovation
I need skilled people, who can do the walls, carpentery, some gardening work, finishing the interior. Maybe we`re even gonna renovate the wooden floor by ourselves? :) In need for really handy people, who know what tool and how to use it, someone with woodworking experience etc.

    Here`s my story.
I`m Joanna and 3 years ago I moved out of Switzerland and started traveling. Now the time had come to work on my own project back home and you are more than welcome to join, honestly - I need your help :)
I used to work as a landscape architect, now I work fot the city, taking care of the parks/squares etc.

Gniezno is a small town, but offering a few nice restaurants, 2 lakes in the city, a museum, a nice coffee shops, a cinema. I do have a bike for you to use. We can go to the forests, you can take a city break to Poznan, Wroclaw etc.

The place for you to sleep will be a separate room, either a living room or a winter garden, as you choose. Both are quite away from my bedroom. I work 7:30-15:30 so you're mostly on your own, working freely in calm :)

We can arrange and check what work would fit you the best.

The house renovation is still in process, I take baby steps. The bathroom is done, the kitchen is temporary so I'm still cooking on a gas stove.

    Hope to see you here
    Cheers! Joanna
