Description
Hello, my name is Leny (61yo f) from Australia. I live in a big beautiful 1921 kominka (traditional farmhouse) in a small village in Minobu, Yamanashi that I bought in August 2025. I need help with cleaning, general maintenance and gardening. I also still have lots of things that were left in the house to go through, including books and old documents, so someone with a high level Japanese reading ability and a high tolerance for dust would be especially welcome. I’m pretty casual about hours etc and if you like cooking I’d love you to cook for us sometimes. I can offer you a big, beautiful traditional room with a futon, free wifi and use of my ebike.
My house is off the beaten track but it is still close to public transport and there are plenty of places to go and things to do to fill your free time without lots of tourists to spoil it. Also there is a direct bus from Shinjuku that stops a few km away.
Please note that at the moment I am in Australia and I won’t return to my house in Japan until mid March. I won’t be confirming any helpers until then. If you are interested in my Japanese journey, check out my photos on facebook, I posted every day from August until November.
