Help us convert an outbuilding and spend time in rural Italy to experience a slower lifestyle, Abruzzo

  Description

  I live in Abruzzo with my husband, two dogs, one live in cat, 6 cats in our barn. We have converted what was a stable into a self-contained annex for my husbands 92 year old mother. We moved to Italy 5 years ago. We live on the outskirts of a very small town in Abruzzo. We are quite remote so you would be reliant on buses/trains or us to get about.
  
  We are looking for someone to help us with DIY and building tasks. We have an outbuilding that we want to convert into accommodation. We are also working on our very sloping garden, trying to make a flat area to stand a pool and to terrace the garden. We would also like to reintroduce our vegetable garden. Garden work would also include assisting in our small vineyard and orchard.
  We would like you to able to spend some time with my husband's mother to include some small housework tasks and company.
  We hope that you will want to spend time in this lovely part of Italy with us and will enjoy helping us move on with our projects.

  Just to spend time in rural Italy and to part of a slower lifestyle. Our area of Italy is so beautiful, rolling landscape. The Majella mountains are just over an hour drive away. In the winter we are known to just jump in the car and head to the slopes for the day. Or 30 mins driveaway is the Adriatic coast. Beautiful safe beaches, bars, restaurants. Walk or cycle the coast path. Around us is vineyards (producing the wonderful Montepulciano wine) and olive groves.

  Help

  The conversion of the barn will need carpentry and general building knowledge. The help we need will be physical. Any gardening/landscaping skills will be gratefully received.

  Accommodation

  You will be staying in our home or if you'd prefer more privacy, we have a motorhome that can be used as accommodation. The bedroom in our home is a large double bedroom with a small private balcony. You will have use of the family bathroom and the separate shower room. We eat our main meal in the evening but always stop for lunch. We are meat-eaters but are happy to accommodate vegetarians and vegans, though we have to say that in this part of Italy it is not the easiest place to be Vegan. I believe our home is comfortable.

  Buses run from the village. We are surrounded by coast, mountains, hilltop villages, old and new towns. Time off does tend to be thought about and planned to save it being wasted. But it's worth it.
