Description
At the eco tourist camp Par is creating an oasis amid the sometimes frenetic activity of village life in West Africa.
Par's eco tourist venture has cabins for rental, a permaculture garden, a bird watching hide and the opportunity to experience life in a small village which relies on subsistence agriculture.
This is a real cultural exchange. Par would appreciate some hours of your time each day helping at the camp in exchange for simple accommodation at the camp or the family compound and all meals. Activities would include assisting with tourist visits, gardening, watering, camp maintenance. There is the opportunity to learn much about the local culture, the history and the Mandinka languageTypes of help and learning opportunities

Workawayers with experience in permaculture gardening and DIY building projects would be most welcome.
Par is building accommodations in an eco-friendly way with local materials, including palm frond roofs.
Several times a week a group of tourists visit the camp for a drink stop on a day tour. Assistance with communicating with these guests would be gratefully appreciated.Languages

Par and his assistant speak very good conversational English and would be happy to share their knowledge of Mandinka and other West African languages with you.Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided in basic huts with single beds and cold running water and toilet facilities. There is also an opportunity to sleep in a treehouse.
If the accommodation at camp is fully utilized by paying guests, there is an opportunity to stay in the family compound which is just a few hundred meters up the road in the village.
Food will be provided by the family. The families in this village are living a subsistence agricultural lifestyle. What else ...

There are many sites to see at local towns including markets at Birikama, beaches at Sanyang, Gunjur and Serakundah.
The Senegalese border is nearby.
Once contact is made Par can give you advice about how best to get to the village. Taxi to Nearby Birikama from Banjul airport costs $1,000 dulassi (GMD). Geli geli (local bus) from Birikama to N'yofelleh is 25GMDA little more information
