  • Description

Hello, we are a small community in Azoia, specifically on Sintra area, by a magic ecosystem of cliffs, wild beaches and abundant mountains 40 min far from Lisbon. Just starting to develop towards a more meaningful, heart full and sustainable way of living with love for music, plants, animals and creating a sustainable way of life for the generations to come.
At the moment we are two families taking care of this land, Laura and David with 3 cats and Kim, Jivan, Timor, Marlin and Matheus, 3 beautiful kids. From Brazil, Spain, Germany and Venezuela.
We are still living with very basic structures, but focusing a lot in planting. At the moment we already planted a agroforestry focused on fruits and medicinal plants, hügelkultur garden beds with basic veggies for ourselves and also welcome some chickens and bees.
Our ideas for creating new areas of soil regeneration, sustainable structures as kitchen, shower, water sources, etc are infinity, but we need creative and excited hands to help us for the next steps.
In our day by day, besides all the work at the land, we love to sit around the fire, play music, cook beautiful food, play with the kids and gather with friends. Every morning we do a check up, by sitting together in circle and expressing how we feel for the day.
We are very open for creative ideas to make this land even more beautiful and sustainable.

Here we can learn all together to create living areas from scratch and how to work with food crop and animals.
We also already have skills to share in gardening, work with bees, natural products from plants, natural dye, herbalism, community living and music.

  • Accommodation

For accommodating the volunteers we have a space in the land designated for tents and some tents to provide with camping mattress or even normal mattress if needed.
The kitchen area is still a very simple tent but with all the facilities for cooking nice meals and electricity, is the same kitchen that we use and there we eat all together. There we usually eat the lunch all together, for dinner and breakfast it depends on the day, but there will be always food available so you can make your own.
For toilet and shower we have compost toilet and still no hot shower in the land, but 8 minutes from here we have a support house where we shower and wash our clothes.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Very near of the land you have at walking distance the Cabo da Roca, the most western point on Europe. Is a quite stunning spot to connect with the ocean and feel the atlantic winds. Also, on the surroundings there are very great spots to walk around. 10 minutes walking from the land there is the Serra de Peninha, which amazing trails to hike. The nearest sand beach you reach is Praia da Adraga, a wild and amazing beach that we really love.
Then, 20 min by bus you are in Colares, the biggest village on the area. On 35 minutes you reach Sintra city with its amazing monuments and old castles. And if you want to hang in the city you can take a bus to Sintra or Cascais and from there commute to the centre of Lisbon all in around an hour by train.
