  Description

  We are a gay couple living in a beautiful detached new-build house in a quiet village in the heart of the Dutch countryside. We both work during the week, but enjoy having people around and sharing our home and surroundings with others.
  
  Our house is modern, spacious and comfortable, with underfloor heating and cooling, making it a pleasant place to stay in every season. We also have a lovely garden with plenty of privacy, which is a great place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.
  
  We live in a peaceful rural area, surrounded by the Dutch polders and the beautiful Green Heart. It is a wonderful area for walking and cycling. At the same time, we are relatively close to several major cities, including Amsterdam, Utrecht, Rotterdam and The Hague, so there is plenty to discover in your free time.
  
  We enjoy a relaxed, open-minded and respectful atmosphere. We like spending time together, having a chat or sharing a meal, but we also value everyone's privacy and independence. Occasionally, we have a cat staying with us as well.
  
  We hope you will feel at home here and enjoy the combination of Dutch countryside, city trips and a comfortable place to stay.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We see a Workaway experience as a cultural exchange in both directions. We would love to share our Dutch way of life, from living in a quiet village and cycling through the countryside to visiting Dutch towns and cities, enjoying local food and experiencing everyday life in the Netherlands.
  
  We are also very curious about the people who come to stay with us. We enjoy hearing about different countries, cultures, traditions, food and ways of life. If you enjoy cooking, we would love to prepare meals together and perhaps introduce each other to dishes from our respective countries.
  
  Since we both work during the week, Workawayers will also have plenty of freedom to explore independently. At the same time, we are happy to spend time together, have dinner, share stories or show you around when possible.
  
  For us, the most important part of the cultural exchange is being open-minded, respectful and curious about each other. We hope you leave with a better understanding of life in the Netherlands, while we get to know a little more about your part of the world.

  Help

  There are a variety of tasks we could use some help with around our home and garden. The tasks will mainly depend on the season and what needs doing at the time.
  
  This can include helping in the garden and vegetable garden, such as planting, weeding, maintaining the garden or harvesting vegetables. We also appreciate some help with household tasks, such as cleaning or ironing shirts.
  
  We particularly enjoy the idea of harvesting vegetables together and then using them to prepare a nice meal. So if you enjoy gardening, cooking or simply working outdoors, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.
  
  We are happy to discuss the tasks with you and find something that matches your interests and abilities. We are not looking for someone to work all day, but rather for a fair exchange where you can help us with practical tasks while having plenty of time to relax and explore the Netherlands.

  Accommodation

  You will have your own private bedroom of approximately 13 m², giving you plenty of space to relax and have your own privacy during your stay. The bedroom is located on the second floor, together with a bathroom. The bathroom is shared when it comes to doing laundry, but otherwise you will have private use of the bathroom.
  
  Our house has several bedrooms and is spacious, so you will have your own comfortable space. The living room is a private area for us, while the kitchen and dining area are shared. This is also where we can meet, have a chat, cook together or enjoy a meal.
  
  We want you to feel at home while also having enough privacy and independence. The combination of your own bedroom and bathroom with a shared kitchen and dining area gives you both your own space and the opportunity to connect with us during your stay.
