Description
Yoga and me (Melissa) moved here from Barcelona and Vizcaya (Spain) in the middle of the Covid, with little or no intention to settle. Fast forward 3 years and we are happily rooting here.
Largarde is a small village 10 minutes away from Mirepoix, a cute medieval town with supermarkets, cafés, and a few little shops. Our home is right next to Chateau de Lagarde and has a beautiful view of the mountains.
We live in a family member's large detached house with a big garden that needs much taking care of, management, time, and skills we don't always have! Although in the countryside, we have busy schedules for work and studies and are super grateful to have some help.
We've got 2 cats and 2 friendly dogs and almost always have friends or family around! :)
Our home is open to humans of all kinds.Types of help and learning opportunities
GardeningDIY and building projectsAnimal CareHelp around the houseCultural exchange and learning opportunities
We are an international couple - I (Melissa) am English and French but was brought up in Spain, while my partner Yoga is Brazilian and vasque from the north of Spain. We love humans and animals, exchanging experiences and knowledge, board games (especially backgammon and dixit!!!), good food and generally just being happy and chilled out. We also love music and are up for a party once in a while!
Keen on teaching how to make bread or cook some yummy dishes, doing some screenprinting or crafty stuff and always happy to learn new skills and DIY's!
We rent a rooms out in the house and very often have visitors that stop by in their trucks or vans or stay in the house for a few days, so expect people from all walks of life coming and going, cooking, sharing and hanging out together.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Happy to help guests with their English or Spanish. We are both learning French and would love an exchange, but also keen on learning the basics of any language!Accommodation
Detached house with a big garden and lovely view of the Pyrenees. The house is right next to the village chateau. We provide a cosy caravan in our garden that has water, a little kitchen and fridge, and an independent gate for entry/parking. Shower and toilet in the house.
We provide one veggie or vegan meal per day, either lunch or dinner depending on the day! I try to cook as much unprocessed and from scratch as possible, and although we are mainly vegetarian, guests are welcome to cook whatever they need for themselves. We are not strict with almost anything!
It's a great place to disconnect and study or telework, do art, read...it's calm but never boring. What else ...
Lakes and rivers nearby and just off a 40 km flat cycling loop. We have bikes to lend! Near Mirepoix, Camon, Montsegur, Roquefixade...
