Help with the Chickens
help harvesting Pineapples, Plantains, Yuca, Lemongrass, Oregano, eggs, Passion Fruit, Aloe, Ginger Root
So far we have managed to prep our land and plant enough food to begin harvesting, and we are currently working on prepping more land and getting the most out of the chicken coop.
Chickens are very sensitive animals, and they require daily attention. They need fresh water and a varied menu everyday. On our menu they have corn, bean sprouts, grubs, termites and different types of larvae.
This means we need to have a continuous supply of these sprouts, and maintain an optimum habitat for the bugs to thrive.
Its all about giving these animals or bugs or sprouts the right amount of quality food and water. If we want to have successful breeding,we must care for them as if they were our babies.
We welcome you to our farm to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Sierra, and thank you for helping us take care of our animals. It is 1 hour into the mountains, in a jungle setting.
Our farm is relatively new, and harvesting for meals is still limited. For our dietary needs, it is great , having Plantain, Yucca, ñame, pineaples and beans. Friendly neighbors have oranges, avocados, and much more. The river is nearby, and the creek is right there. (For Fish and shrimp). We do still have to buy basic groceries, things like oil, rice, seasonings and meat or poultry for those who eat it. For purposes of your meals, please bring your own groceries the first couple of weeks as you acclimate.
We will do our best to answer all emails. We don't have electricity or signal in all parts of the farm.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are looking for help building a self sustainable farm in the Sierra Nevada Mountains!
Located 45 minute hike from Palomino, or catch a ride in our working motorcycle, It's a small project, hoping to benefit a couple of local families with a stable job and a wonderful living environment. The dream is a piece of land where we can grow our own food, without the use of chemical nutrients or pesticides. We can feed ourselves and our little friends, cattle, and raise some chickens as well.
