Description
I am a farmsteader, I live with some animals and many plants. The city is very close nearby.
I have a passion for simple living, but also open minded, and have diverse interests. I am an advocate for sustainability, independent living and bicycle commuting and goats. With my local friends we are trying to establish a small eco community.Types of help and learning opportunities

It is possible to get to know the area, which has a wonderful natural ecosystem, lots of forest, but also cozy towns, lakes, hotbaths etc. Hungarian language or english can be learnt/practiced.
There is a lot to learn also about goats, farming, self sustainability, foraging small scale agriculture, construction, welding, bicycles.Help
I am in the process of establishing a farmstead which means that although my place is cozy, it might not be as comfortable as you might experience on some farms that have been running for a long time. To balance this, I am welcoming everyone with a warm heart and I am quite easy-going.
As I am building a homestead, a small farm, there are plenty of things to do which varies by the day and is a function of the weather as well. Building, maintenance, animal care, gardening, farming, processing harvested food. You will want to spend time with my goats as they are super friendly, cute and fun.
Things we do at the farm:
- daily chores, taking care of the household, the animals, our needs
- commute by bicycle (or public transport)
- gardening, foraging, food processing
- taking and training the goats for walks
- construction (building new stuff), and maintanance (the houses, the goat pen, etc...)
- low tech projects, making stuff (gardening tools, furniture, bicycles, whatever)
- go on day trips or weekend trips, watch movies, have dinner parties
- welcome cycling tourists
I am a celiac and my kitchens are gluten free.
If you prefer not to work just couchsurf my place you are still welcome, I enjoy good company.

At this moment there is one room free for guests. About 12 sqm. Bathroom, small but well equipped kitchen available in the main house. Mainly we cook on wood fire, sometimes electric or microwave. The guest room is in the secondary house (good insulation).
At the moment we have partial access to internet. Town is 45 minutes on bicycle (which i can provide!) or 20 min by bus (a couple of times per day). I can of course give you a ride too by car sometimes. What else ...
You can visit our local museum, large flea market, learn about hungarian cuisine or see many natural landmarks such as old growth forests, springs, there is even a small canyon quite close.

I'll be honest, I found it a challenge at first to be in a completely new environment, in a country where I only had some knowledge of the language,
which was pretty outside of my comfort zone.
It was great, however as I could communicate fully with Péter during my stay and… read more
He was very welcoming and introduced me to his friends and family which I really enjoyed. We spent much time together and he was always making sure that I enjoy the time.
I learned a lot regarding the tasks and enjoyed the work.
I warmly recommend Peter as a host!
Thanks a lot Peter :)
I learned a lot about farming and helped him in different kids of tasks. I collected firewood, cared for the goats, sowed corn, dug holes for planting kiwis and cut the place for the new windows into the wall of the adobe house,… read more
Nem idegeskedő, de felettébb pozitív kisugárzású barátot leltem személyében. Volt szerencsém találkozni kedves családjával is, akikről mind ugyanezt tudnám elmondani.
Remélem újra kereszteződnek egymással útjaink! :)
