    Description

Welcome to our off-grid homestead in the beautiful mountainous area of Kornos in Cyprus! We are a couple who have previously created another eco-village, and now we are embarking on a new journey to build an environmentally sustainable community on our 2000-square-meter plot of land.

We are looking for long-term volunteers who are passionate about eco-living and interested in helping us with various construction projects, including building A-frame houses, outdoor kitchens, and even a treehouse. As we are at the beginning stages of our project, we will also be working on establishing food gardens and raising chickens.

As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to learn about off-grid living and sustainable practices, while also contributing to our community's growth. Our homestead is completely self-sufficient, and we rely on solar panels for electricity and have our own water source. We are committed to living a low-impact lifestyle and promoting sustainable practices, and we hope to inspire others to do the same.

We have three dogs, two cats, and nine chickens, so animal lovers are more than welcome! We believe in creating a community that values respect, collaboration, and creativity, and we welcome volunteers who share these values.

In exchange for your help, we offer you a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a sustainable community, learn new skills, and enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Cyprus. You will have a private space to sleep and access to all of our facilities, including communal spaces, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

We also understand that you may want to explore the local area and experience the local culture during your free time, so we offer a flexible schedule that allows for time off. If you are interested in joining us on this exciting journey, please get in touch with us. We look forward to welcoming you to our homestead and sharing our passion for sustainable living!

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travellers who volunteer at our off-grid homestead will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a unique cultural exchange experience. By living and doing tasks alongside us, volunteers can learn about our way of life and the principles of sustainability that guide our practices.

Volunteers can learn about off-grid living and sustainable practices, such as permaculture and natural building techniques. They will have the chance to do projects with upcycled materials and learn how to use them to construct new structures, such as A-frame houses, outdoor kitchens, and a treehouse.

Volunteers will also have the opportunity to learn about local culture and traditions. Cyprus is a culturally rich country with a unique history, and volunteers can explore the surrounding area and learn about the local customs, cuisine, and language.

In addition, volunteers will have the opportunity to meet and interact with like-minded people from around the world, forming friendships and connections that can last a lifetime. By joining our community and doing tasks together towards a common goal, volunteers can gain a sense of purpose and accomplishment, while also making a positive impact on the environment and the local community.
