    Description

We are a vibrant hostel for adventurous and young-at-heart travellers, located in the heart of Cape Town - which was recently voted as the 'coolest street on the planet' by Time Out Magazine!

Our hostel is a friendly, fun and invited space. We are fortunate to have many guests from around the world stay with us and despite being a larger hostel, they still feel like they are at home when they stay with us. Our volunteers feel this way too :)

Being in the middle of the city is idea for our volunteers as most attractions are either walking distance or a quick uber ride away. But don't expect a normal city vibe here in Cape Town. Our city is hugged by mountains - which include Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill. All of which, can be seen from our hostel rooms or social spaces! World class beaches are also super close by.

Our daily activities and hostel run tours are super popular with our guests and volunteers. They are a great way to meet other likeminded travellers while exploring Cape Town and having a good time.

Our social spaces at the hostel include:

    - An Outdoor Fire-Pit and Meditation Garden
    - Shared Kitchen
    - Library/ Workspace
    - Large Lobby/ Reception
    - On-site Cafe - not operated by the hostel
    - On-Site Rooftop Bar and Restaurant with mountain views - not operated by the hostel
    - Zen Garden with Outdoor Gym and Showers

We have 19 employed and paid staff: 1 in Finance, 1 in Reservations, 2 in Operations, 2 in Public Areas/Maintenance, 5 in Housekeeping, 8 in Reception (day shift as well as overnight Reception).

Learning English, engaging with travellers around the world, and many locals all in one space. We are within close proximity to beaches, mountains and the city life, therefore, it is an opportune place to explore the city on foot

We need a qualified yoga teacher to assist to help us with our yoga classes. The right person will teach once or twice a week. These sessions will be an hour long. On the other days you will assist us with our fun daily activities often teaming up with one or two of our other volunteers.

    These daily activities currently include:

    - Taking guests to a local market
    - Hiking Table Mountain with guests
    - Hiking Lions Head Mountain with guests
    - Assisting with Bring 'n Braai (BBQ) night
    - Assisting with Movie Night
    - Taking guests to watch the sunset on Signal Hill

*please note the hikes are an important part of a the volunteer's position and often you will hike with guests twice a week. With this in mind, please only apply if you are physically fit, fine with hiking and not afraid of heights (the views are worth the effort though!).

Occasionally our volunteers also support our Travel Manager, Phil with a couple of tours that he runs which currently include a Cape Point Tour (think amazing views along one of the most scenic drives in the world and meeting cute African penguins), a Township Tour and a fun Stellenbosch Wine Tour.

Our volunteers assist us for 5 hours a day (although on some days it might be less and others a little more), 5 days a week in exchange for free accommodation, a food voucher and of course a great experience.

Not forgetting our close proximity to Table Mountain, Lions Head and Signal Hill.
