Description
We are a small family of three – Ilaria (mum), Rossano (dad), and Gaia, almost 5 years old – living in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, between Florence and Siena. Our home is a countryside apartment just a 15-minute walk from San Donato in Poggio, one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy.
We have a large garden with a vegetable patch, a barbecue area, and many olive trees. Rossano is a farmer passionate about vines, olives, bonsai, and beekeeping. Ilaria is an architect and teacher who often travels for work, and Gaia attends a lovely forest kindergarten in an old mill about 7 km away.
We love good food, nature walks, and taking care of our garden, bees, and plants. Our home offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature, yet close to history and culture.Types of help and learning opportunities

Staying with us means living the authentic Tuscan lifestyle in the heart of Chianti Classico, just a short walk from the medieval village of San Donato in Poggio. San Donato has a small theater with cinema that screens films in their original language on Fridays, while nearby Tavarnelle Val di Pesa offers a beautiful library with events, another cinema, and places to dance on weekends. The area is full of festivals, sagre, and medieval fairs throughout the year.
You can easily explore lots of places and towns, with museume and historical attactions as Panzano, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Siena, and Florence. You can travel direct by bus (SITA) from San Donato or Tavarnelle, or by train from Poggibonsi. Language courses are available in Florence and locally. Gaia’s school community is very international – from Australia to Peru, Sweden to Germany – so many languages are spoken here.
At home, you can join us in cooking Tuscan recipes, gardening, caring for olive trees and bees, and enjoying the slow, rich rhythm of Chianti life.Au Pair Help

Help
We are looking for a caring, cheerful, and playful person to stay in the loft floor of our home and look after Gaia, almost 5, when we are not around (early morning and after school) and share with us some simple household chores, cleaning or tidying up or wanting to cook. A valid driving licence, solid driving experience, and a first aid course are essential, as we need someone who can safely take Gaia to and from school. We would love it if you could speak to Gaia in English or your native language (preferably English, German, or Spanish) to help her learn naturally through play and daily life.
Most activities will be at home – playing, reading, cooking together, doing arts and crafts, or enjoying music or playing in the nature around the house – but sometimes you might go with her to the playground, library, or activities with other children, simply supervising and having fun with her.
If you enjoy nature, good food, and spending time with children, finding good italian and cook books, our home offers a peaceful and welcoming place where you can truly feel part of the family.
we offer free board and lodging and a monthly allowance in line with the guidelines (€100 packet money monthly 25-30 working hours per week), along with rest days (Saturdays and/or Sundays) and holidays, preferably following the Italian public holidays, as required.Languages

You will have a private room on the loft floor of our home, with a bed, desk, bookshelves, mirror, Wi-Fi, and plenty of books to enjoy. This floor has its own small bathroom, while the shower is located in the main bathroom downstairs.
The rest of the house is on the lower floor and includes a shared kitchen-living area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom. Outside, there is a large garden, a field with olive trees, and a small shed that we use for tools and laundry. It’s a peaceful, green space perfect for relaxing after a day of activities. What else ...
I am the language expert, Rossano is a very communicative persona but doesn't speak properly english, only basic. Gaia is learning and can understand easy sentencese and questions, she can speak a little bit and sings a lot in english!
It would be perfect if you could have your own car or eventually a bike to move, but we can help you to find something!A little more information

I also work from home very often. I can do it from home or from bar, cafes or other places like the public library to work with internet free access. We also use to share small studios here around.
Space for parking camper vans
Around 2 km from home there are open spaces nearby that are often used by camper vans. We could probably arrange a parking in front of the house. You can use the sink in the tool shed, and there are electrical and water hookups available outside the house.
